From what I've seen, Sephiroth is faster than Dante. Although his swordsmanship is better, Dante is immortal. With his devil trigger, sword Rebellion, and two guns, he beats sephiroth overall. So, Dante.
@iTrolledABearTwice I've played DMC, DMC 2 (sucked) and DMC 3. Never played 4, but from what I've heard, Dante isn't even the main character of that one.

(Which he can, btw) Sephiroth can destroy the world with Supernova. Although Sephiroth could win without it, he still has it up his sleeve.
Sephiroth obviously has this hands down. The only thing Dante has on Seph is his Devil Trigger state. Seph is a superior swordsman who can slash faster than the eye can see, compared to the speed of rain. I'm sure Dante could handle a stab like it's no body's business. But how about sliced into a million pieces? One Oblivion and Dante is a goner. The thing about Seph is that he's never gone all out on an opponent not even Cloud, and even then, what we already know of Seph is enough. :/

Having played Final Fantasy VII and the Devil May Cry series I have to say... Dante would most likely win. He's probably not as skilled with a sword as Sephiroth is but with his gun and sword play along with all the other weapons Dante has it gives him an advantage. Plus, he is pretty much immortal. With the amount of stabbing Sephy would do to Dante. He would pretty much find it laughable. Plus, the more pain Dante gets, the more powerful he is for his Devil Trigger.
I am afraid that Sephiroth is outmatched. Dante's been impaled and/or stabbed at least once in EVERY game, most of those times being in the first cutscene in the game, and has been shot in the head at point-blank range and he didn't even flinch. So fighting Sephiroth wouldn't be much of a problem for him.

How it would go is Sephiroth would cast Supernova and during this time he'd be open and Dante would take that opportunity and kill Sephiroth, but then Dante would also lose by Supernova thus an ultimate tie.

yes, seph was beaten by cloud once by being suprise stabed in the back, before seph got all his life stream powers. then cloud beats him again after he and all his friends jump his ass. and advent children... after the clone got jenova cells put into him, the spirit of sephiroth consumed the clone. i dought it was a full power seph, but reguardless, if you seen advent children then you know seph nearly beat cloud without even trying. but his aragance led to his defeat and another suprise attack.

Sephiroth is so powerful he could actually avoid death without given demonic powers. Sephiroth could cut down numerous behemoths with one slash, take down both Genesis and Angeal, and was powerful than any being in Gaia BEFORE he got through the Reunion and became much more powerful. Cloud won becuase the player is cloud and its not always the most powerful fighter who wins the battle. Safer Sephiroth could literally destroy the solar system. Thats DBZ powerful.
Sephiroth is still human, Dante wins. Sephiroth or Safer Sephiroth cant destroy a solar system, in that case super nova would of completely overkilled Cloud and his party. Supernova is just a move he uses in the game, Dante could beat Sephiroth or Safer Sephiroth in his Human form without any hassle

Actually, in real life, I think Dante could only get hurt by not being stylish, and by not mouthing off his baddies, and by stepping on Leviathan acid puddles.
i dont think leviathans acid puddles could do any serious Damage to him. the second the acid touches Dante his Regeneration abilities kick in and he heals way faster then he gets hurt. We all no Dante wouldnt be Dante if he didnt Talk smack to his opponents and in devil may cry 2 he was so dull he hardly said a word. Being stylish is what Dante does and we all know he's good at it. ;D lol
As Dante gets older his abilities and powers get stronger, he matures . you heard it your self in DMC1 everytime Dante kills a boss they tell him he surpassed the powers of Sparda. so in my opinion DMC2 Dante is probably way more powerfull then Sparda. Another thing i should point out is that all the boss Demons Dante killed, Sparda was only able to seal them away which leads me to believe that Dante is More powerful then Sparda
sephiroth also could use materia spells such as... slow... and haste... kinda puts to waste dante's time control "advantage"...
and ya, im sure it is possible for dante to dodge seph's meteors, but i honestly dought he could dodge super nova...

And Seph does fight for good but just for his birthgiven right to be the ruler of the promise land he creates. Downfall is he has to destroy the planet in order to do so. Most frown on that especially people like Al Gore so there are those to stand in his way.
As i said before in other vids, Dante is of earth born demon or not. Seph is part alien who is immortal as well as Dante. Dante cant summon meteors to destroy entire planets. They are matched in skill and strength but when it comes down to it Dante cant survive in the vacuum of space and all seph has to do is blow up the planet. As i said in other vids Alien>Demon.

dante's healing factor would prevent him from being chopped in half. He heals to quick as weve already seen in basicaly every dmc game. the moment the blade is removed from his skin the injury is healed. thats why when he grabbed vergils sword in dmc 3 he had no wound. so the whole head cut off thing wouldnt work. but seph would still probably win though. he would just have to injure dante faster then he could regenerate. ( for the record i like dante more but i still think seph would win )
dante can heal very fast, and for NORMAL cuts and slashes your right dante would heal to fast. but sephiroth is known for choping whole buildings and structers into pieces like they were made of butter. so i hardly dought dante could survive a full force attack from sephiroths masamune.

ok, Sephiroth died in ff7 bc he fell into the lifestream after battling with Cloud and his friends. I say draw. Sephiroth never dies :/ And Dante's heart is the only way he will die (look at back story info if you don't believe me) but his regeneration ability would heal any wounds before the damage could possibly get to his heart. So what will happen is no one will win, and then Cloud magically shows up to fight Sephy and they disappear, leaving Dante in a state of WTF. (Kingdom Hearts 2 :D)

yes, seph was beaten by cloud once by being suprise stabed in the back, before seph got all his life stream powers. then cloud beats him again after he and all his friends jump his ass. and advent children... after the clone got jenova cells put into him, the spirit of sephiroth consumed the clone. i dought it was a full power seph, but reguardless, if you seen advent children then you know seph nearly beat cloud without even trying. but his aragance led to his defeat and another suprise attack.

Sephiroth is so powerful he could actually avoid death without given demonic powers. Sephiroth could cut down numerous behemoths with one slash, take down both Genesis and Angeal, and was powerful than any being in Gaia BEFORE he got through the Reunion and became much more powerful. Cloud won becuase the player is cloud and its not always the most powerful fighter who wins the battle. Safer Sephiroth could literally destroy the solar system. Thats DBZ powerful.

Dante wins hands down and heres why. Dante is half demon and half human, where as Sephiroth is only a genetically enhanced human, at he end of the day Sephiroth is still human, in terms of swordsmanship it could go either way but Dante wins because he can regenerate where as Sephiroth cant. i dont think leviathans acid puddles could do any serious Damage to him. the second the acid touches Dante his Regeneration abilities kick in and he heals way faster then he gets hurt. We all no Dante wouldnt be Dante if he didnt Talk smack to his opponents and in devil may cry 2 he was so dull he hardly said a word. As Dante gets older his abilities and powers get stronger, he matures . you heard it your self in DMC1 everytime Dante kills a boss they tell him he surpassed the powers of Sparda. so in my opinion DMC2 Dante is probably way more powerfull then Sparda. Another thing i should point out is that all the boss Demons Dante killed, Sparda was only able to seal them away which leads me to believe that Dante is More powerful then Sparda

As i said before in other vids, Dante is of earth born demon or not. Seph is part alien who is immortal as well as Dante. Dante cant summon meteors to destroy entire planets. They are matched in skill and strength but when it comes down to it Dante cant survive in the vacuum of space and all seph has to do is blow up the planet. As i said in other vids Alien>Demon.

dante's healing factor would prevent him from being chopped in half. He heals to quick as weve already seen in basicaly every dmc game. the moment the blade is removed from his skin the injury is healed. thats why when he grabbed vergils sword in dmc 3 he had no wound. so the whole head cut off thing wouldnt work. but seph would still probably win though. he would just have to injure dante faster then he could regenerate. ( for the record i like dante more but i still think seph would win )

He never really came "back" his clones used pieces of Jenova to "turn" into him for a short period of time, so Sephiroth never came back, it's just the clones using his power. Sephiroth never dies :/ And Dante's heart is the only way he will die (look at back story info if you don't believe me) but his regeneration ability would heal any wounds before the damage could possibly get to his heart. So what will happen is no one will win, and then Cloud magically shows up to fight Sephy and they disappear, leaving Dante in a state of WTF. (Kingdom Hearts 2 :D)

Cloud was close to killing sephiroth but everyone says that Dante could own cloud in the blink of the eye. I Really wonder if its true?

I really don't know sephiroth can slice anything from 100 feet and when hes fighting he never looks scared and looks just like a swordmaster when fighting I really dont know dante has devil triger too but sephiroth fights way better dante got an ass woping by vergil.
