When I was a kid, right around the time fire was discovered, these things were only a quarter in America, but I never knew anything about "peppery", must be a dialect barrier happening there.
@Potionette81 They were 15p for as long as I can remember them (I'm 24 now), right up until about 2009/10; then they went to 17p, which I thought was strange, as it was such an inconvenient price. Now they are 20p.
Judging by the cars and hairstyles in the advert, the price has only doubled in 30 years, so it's not too bad.
Kids were more innocent back then or I was at least! A finger of fudge for me carried no innuendo or whatever. Also I know your palette alters as you grow older, but not that much! I mean the chocolate we once knew like Cadbury's or Galaxy, now literally tastes like poison and you spit it out instantly. Same goes for cereals as they are slamming sugar into everything and taking out the costly ingredients, thinking it will fool us. Sadly most people are morons when it comes to diet!
No doubt people up and down the country pissed themselves laughing when this ad came out. In Oz we had an ad for an ice cream and its catchphrase was: It's so hard to have a Gay time on your own!" LOL. Sometimes ad companies are asleep at the switch.
@eorthen maybe i'm strange but i have liturally got tears running down my face i just laughed my ass off at your comment oh thanks i haven't laughed like that in ages :') xx
Creepy!!! I haven't seen that commercial since it aired on television......and I knew the words off by heart!!! Man, you could do some serious programming on kids with commercials!!
Am I the only one who wants to strangle the boy who's singing at the beginning of this? And why are they singing "kids" instead of "children"? This isn't America!
lol, could you imagine telling the kids nowadays you wanna give em a finger of fudge!?! "sorry officer, it wont happen again, no, no need to ring social services no.... "
The sad thing about the this advert is that it would be banned now adays, not only because they say " just enough to they eat", but also because of the kids playing conkers, without safety goggles. oh well at least you can still buy a fudge for 15p is it 20p nowadays
Funny how some of the post on this clip are smutty, when this advert came out it was innocent shame we cant go back to those days without people trying to find the smutty inuendo, sad people.

This is a PROPER advert, don't make 'em like this any more! the ads these days are crap, all cars and insurance companies. No doubt the do-gooders and liberals would have this banned now anway! Give your kids a treat?! poor things would be palmed off with an apple or a carrot stick!
