@TheMistermuppet your doctor might say about a month.. i saw a big difference after two weeks.. if your taking 10mg which is the lowest its safer in case you want to stop it later on without side effects, which are subtle just google online.. it has helped me when i needed it.. i dont take it no more but i do recommend it since its very effective for what its for!
My dad went from 200 to 300 pounds taking mirtazapine. I'm 15 and Lexapro helped me lose weight. Didn't help with my anxiety and my depression so the psychiatrist added Wellbutrin and Ativan 0.5mg for anxiety. I have Lexapro for 12 weeks and it hasn't helped me.
@ericsummey95 interesting, im starting to believe mirtazapine is the cuplrit. Im sorry lexapro is not kicking in yet, or at all in that matter.. although i didnt feel it kick in until i had a rather BS moment like almost three months into taking it and i handled that problem with not a single worry in the world.. im off the lexapro but in that tough time it gave me the edge i needed. Perhaps Wellbutrin will compensate lexapro as your days go. good luck :)
@kokkelaget yes America makes alot of money.. i live close to Mexico, and they have strict guidlines now that you must have a prescription and the price for ANY medicine there is 75% cheaper!
Hi.Glad to see you seem to be doing OK. Weight gain is a problem with a lot of meds. I'm glad you admitted to overeating being the cause of your weight gain. Most people blame the drug itself affecting metabolism. You simply admit you feel like eating more, which is easy enough to control. I took another look at an earlier post of 2008 when you had just come off paxil and had an altercation with another road user. You're a lot calmer and relaxed person now. Take care and take it easy. Ian
@ADNorthEast yeah i feel calmer.. i dont blame the drug completely at all.. bad diet plus meds is not a combination though.. im beginning to think mirtazapine is the only thing that makes me want to visit the kitchen again and again even though im full .. im changing my diet and cutting fast food before its too late.
@masterpsychosis Yeah, cut out the fast food and eat regular balanced meals with plenty of whole grains, cerials, pulses etc and you'll be fine. Sounding like I'm some sort of diet guru - i'm not - but if you feel better about your body then you will feel better in yourself, but I'm sure you know that already. All the best.
A big thumbs up for this video! My doc tried to put me on seroquel XR because he won't give me ativan anymore. I did my own research and I refuse to take this junk!
Your doctor is Not your friend!..its all about the money.
@torgomax I totally agree.. and i just found out that there are drug companies that visit doctors offices to sell there new drugs and they get comission etc.. thats why when you go into an office and you see lexapro pens, signs for lexapro, brochures for lexapro more than likely you know what company came to that doctor. I learned this from a nurse who has been in healthcare for over 35 years.
when does the drug start to work for most people?
