I just found my SNES and Final Fight. It's fucking hard as shit! I remember as a kid, I would never get passed Katana, the crazy looking samurai mofo with the swords.

There were a few things in Final Fight 2's story that got retconned by the Street Fighter Alpha trilogy:

1.Cody was no longer on holiday with Jessica, but rather in jail for causing too many fights.

2.Guy was given a new sensei named Zeku, thus reducing Genryusai to becoming Zeku's sensei.

3.The leader of the resurrected Mad Gear was now Sodom, making Retu his second-in-command.

Man, I was obsessed with the first Final Fight in arcades and remember thinking how awesome it was that it was coming out on the SNES... it made the system a must buy for me. Although it was a much better arcade conversion than something like Double Dragon back in the day, it was still a bit lacking... luckily Capcom redeemed themselves with the SNES port of Street Fighter II.

final fight 2 and 3 aren't that great. 3 has some cool stuff but final fight one is the best

you should have pointed out that the replaced women were only true for the western releases of the game. and you forgot to mention the missing blood.

the graphics on the snes version at first glance may seem similar to the arcade but run them side by side and the differences are huge, with missing animation, less characters on screen, less items, no parallex scrolling on backgrounds, no swinging handles on the train, etc

they have ruined haggar's look in FF3 with that floaty skate walk.

Yeah the SNES version looked similar to the arcade in screenshots but had a lot of differences in motion... the Sega CD version looked much better even though the color was off.

Beautiful, man =) Final Fights were always great games, even though I was more of a Streets of Rage kind of guy :P

but yeah, I think Final Fight 3 is probably my second favorite beat'em up of all times, right behind Streets of Rage 2 =)

it's a shame the beat'em up genre has fallen in the almost-extinct state it is these days :\

I loved Final Fight for the SNES. It took me a long long time to beat it, but it can be done.

I never played 2 or 3 but it'd be nice to find them at a flea market or something. I'd defintiely buy them!

they're not as good as the original, even in its stripped down shitty form, final fight 1 plays better and is more fun to play than final fight 2 and 3.
