That game would be cool if it was 3D and had better animation. Like say if the pieces were your Mii's and they killed other pieces with quick little animations. :)

Check out Interplay's Battle Chess from 1988 - the PC version. I played it in early 90ies, and the kill animations scared the hell out of me.

I don't know why... but i will always think chess is better irl than in games, it's more exciting as you can talk and whatever with the person you are playing with. In games it feels so unpersonal and materialistic if you get my point. I still think i will buy this though, always good when you don't have anyone to play with.

They should make it 3D, make the chess peices have the players Mii's heads on them, and have the game make use of the Wii Remote's pointer, because with what I can tell from this trailer, it doesn't! The music is awesome, though; perfect for this trailer!

Looks ok, though it seems more of a WiiWare title.

Seeing as they put it on a disc they should of made Mii's useable, and maybe some Nintendo themed chess boards and pieces. I know it's budget but those two features wouldn't cost that much more.

This game was released in Europe recently, ( No, I'm not European) and Official Nintendo Magazine gave it a 78% for the Gameplay and Wi-Fi capability. The only flaws were the bland graphics and that it didn't "capture the imaginations" of those who play real chess.

Don't care about flashy graphics here. When it comes to chess, best is very simple graphics that helps to focus what's going on in the game and distinquish the pieces from each other. What I do not accept is the controls. It would've been much better and intuitive if you could simply point, grab, move and drop the piece instead of using really clumsy nes-style control setup.
