My main concern with table saws is kickback from lumber binding and climbing up and the paranoia of it happening oh yehhh especially when using ancient table saws with no riving knife, splitter or push stick and using sheer determination and lack of adequate safety methods to get the job done.

2. if youa re careless enough to get a finger in the way and painfully nip the blade then the force the blade uses when it pulls down will break you finger...possibly off

Honestly, I don't believe this would work in a serious shop. The blade also generates heat which would alter the conductivity. Hit a knot or a sap pocket and you just ruined your blade? What happens if you switch out to a dado blade? Besides I bet you cant use a carbide-tipped blade because the ceramics that are in it don't conduct electricity. There's got to be a billion carpenters out there that have never cut a finger. Use good technique

@arr4gtr It is NOT about conductivity! It is an electrical CHARGE on the blade's surface which is being monitored. A bit like the iPhone's capacitive touch screen - there is no conductivity through glass. Try to operate it with a wooden stick. It won't work. Take a sausage and you will be able to operate an iPhone as if you were using your finger.

What if it hits a sap pocket or a staple? the water in the sap or the spark from the staple might trigger the brake. I don't understand how it works but think one should just use good practice and not play around when using a saw. My saw doesn't have a guard on it.Never suffered a cut or even kickback because I use 1-2featherboards when necessary &use appropriate/size shape push sticks

Our Fingers act as a dielectricum and are, when approaching, changing the capacitance in Farad. A staple shouldn't be able to trigger, and even a sap pocket could be detected as such for it has a different dielectric constant. A sausage and a finger should be quite similar.
