  • these is a wrong word saying by the speaker ,

the wrong word in 3:32 , the girl asked about louisburg square street , and speaker says ( he says ) ,,, so how is that ?

i think girls take she not he , am i right?

  • maybe the speaker tutor means that it's the man who 'confirmed' the information when she asked him that interrogative question.

  • jonlewisprovence-

Actually, when asking directions, it is a polite imperative.

  • Of course, I don't speak a word of English myself, that's why I'm watching these videos, but I just couldn't help wondering whether when we stop someone in the street and say 'excuse me' is it a question or a polite imperative?

In the video there is a question mark after 'excuse me' so if it's not too much trouble, could someone be so kind as to tell me if it's right?

  • umm depends how you use it..if somebody says something and you dont understand them, you can say:

"Excuse me?" which means "sorry, what did you say?"..but when asking a question, and you say "excuse me" before it, it's just being polite.

  • Nice lesson.Cool men who did not know how to goes to the beach.
