Notice you're using the weight of your entire arm to press a note. It's tiring. As you speed up, you'll realize you can't play like that. Once you speed up, the only possible way to play that quickly is to transfer the motion more to your fingers, which is what you're NOT training yourself to do in this video.
The pianist of this video seemed to think such an exercise did her good, so who are you bozos to contradict her? If you want more advanced lessons, go look for them or pay a teacher to give them to you.
@baileal no Hanon actually WORKS!! this is absolute tosh! this person obviously had a crap teacher lol you might as well play three blind mice for all the good this does!
Thought some times, old fashioned way can be the best :) (Ps: im not saying that this IS the best way but yeahh lol...)
For people who actually can read notes, and arent really begginers but want to secure accuracy and speed, i think the best way would be:
Czerny. (try School of velocity? {sry dunno if its called like that i have the book in french ^^") but yes it will deffinatly improve ur skills! (Ive been playing it since ive started in my academy!)
This excercise method obviously does little to improve accuracy, given that you made at least 5 errors in this video (botched notes), at various tempos.
I've been searching for an exercise like this to help with my speed and accuracy. I'll give it a try and maybe even respond in a couple of weeks to give a review or something :)
thx man.........!!!

Not good, almost useless. This is old fashion approach to piano playing.
