  • @irhererOfLoL It has to do with playing burned games on Xbox 360.

  • that is good video..but we need the driver for it..right?

  • @getale No. The driver is for the usb probe.

  • THANK YOU!!! im flashing my friends xbox and i just noticed its a lite on :(

  • @jahnkeanater No problem.

  • Dude this is awesome, i made one. but im a little short on how to actually flash my xbox 360 lite-on drive... i saw you had a video, but could you please make a video on how to flash it using THIS probe?

  • why we need 9-positoin female sloder D-sub connector?

  • @getale It plugs into your computer...

  • Hey! Will the NPN transistor from "The Source" work??

The only info it says about them is "General purpose NPNs. For power switching/amplifier application. Rated 600mW."

  • @danpluso It worked for me.

  • where should i put the serial connector and the usb connector i dont understand that.

  • @sametshit Serial goes in the serial port and the usb goes in the usb port. All the usb is, is a form of 12v power.

  • do u still need the ck3 with this

  • @savshouse17 No the whole purpose of this, is to avoid having to purchase a CK3.

  • what does the transistor connect to when you are trying to flash your drive. I have a connectivity kit with one on it and I'm clueless as to what it plugs in to.

  • hey nice vid lots of help got question im supposed to buy the 30awg wire right cuz when i look up the dsub female connecter thing it says it handles wire up to 20awg ....so is the wire to much uve already used those supplies right

  • HI witch driver i need to use when i flash my 360 ?

  • how not to get banned from XBOX LIVE while playing burned games ?

  • @waseem1173 Stay updated on firmware.

  • Could i not just use a toothpick why do i need a probe

  • @nani1962 Lol, your kidding right? The needle is a conductive which will send the code through the needle and down the wire into your computer... Using a toothpick would be like setting your house on fire. There's no point.

  • and i also dont have anything to plug my d sub into the bak of my comp so i bought a usb connector

  • Wsup john, i made a probe using this video it is different from ck3 i was wondering if you can make a video on how to connect the probe and use it ?

  • Thnx for the video, I've built 2 of these things already and bot the *Bad Serial Data* message from both, I', starting to believe that I might need those drivers that you have been talking about, is there any way you can email em to me

  • @AnthonyE7478 Others have no problem without the drivers. I'll look for them for you though when I get home.

  • Do you know how to do a probe with a DKU-5 wire?

  • i made this probe, i dont have a lite on drive though, i made it so if i ever get a liteon, i can flash it... is my computer suppose to detect something when i plug it in? because i plugged it in n it didnt do anything...

  • @zeroreal1ty It's not a USB port, you may need to restart your computer with it attached in order for it to pick up correctly.

  • Hi Johnny,

Can I just use a really long usb cable and solder it directly to the Dsub connector without the extra 2 pieces of wires?

  • Possibly, try it. If it doesn't work then just desolder the wires.

  • @JohnnyMcKinney Hello Johnny, i think i already posted a comment but im not sure.

So ill do it again! How is Microsoft supposed to know that you modded/flashed your drive? Is that for all drives or only the lite on(because it needs to be hardmodded)?

Or am i safe as long as i use ABGX and all the Stealth software stuff?

  • @i5Alex Upgrade to iXtreme LT and then use ABGX and you will be safe.

  • is this ALL I NEED to flash a lite-on? besides the obvious software..

  • Yup, but it honestly doesn't matter right now, you'll get banned as soon as you login to Xbox Live.

  • thats what i hear.. i fucked up the lite-on flash and got a benq 360...much easier to flash..i hear ixtreme L.T. will fix the banning problem. either way, good vid. the thing actually worked!! eccept after the flash the drive wouldnt open and all i got was the boot up screen...

  • well, that's why you stealth your burnt games using abgx360 GUI

  • huh

  • Is there any way to just use the usb with no DB9 involved? The usb has a D+/D- 5v and Grnd, so couldn't you just use the D+ on the collector of the npn? Really been beating my head against the wall on this one, so any help would be greatly appreciated~! They sell home made one's on ebay so I know it can be done, but how? Thanks

  • Those home made ones aren't homemade. I have one. A business makes them and they ship with drivers. If anyone has trouble out of this homemade probe let me know. I'll give you the drivers I got, because I had the drivers installed before testing my homemade probe. I didn't make this video to make a probe I made it to help out others. Although I did test it and it worked fine, but it could have been because of the previously installed driver. Not sure. It's worked with others just fine.

  • eh, i have 5.6k ohm 1/2 watt resistors. will those work?

  • No it wont. If it would have don't you think I would have said other types of resistors that work?

  • for extrating the key with this, do i need to install any driver or just extract it with jungleflasher?

  • I believe their is a driver that comes with jungle flasher, but I'm not too sure? If it doesn't work let me know as I have a few drivers that I had installed before figuring this all out.

  • hey i was wondering if you can share your original firmware of the lite-on dg-16d2s. i click on lite-on erase without saving the key. if you can share your original with me that would be great. thanks

  • 1.) I don't have a Lite-On drive

2.) Even if I did my key wouldn't work, why the hell do you think you need to extract your key in the first place?

  • Very helpful dude, there arent many vids showing how to do this, thanks again, i had one question, is it possible to ALSO use the usb cable to power the DRIVE so i can eject it without using the power from my 360?

  • I could possibly be possible, but I wouldn't know. Find the ground and the 12v wire of the drive and disconnect the current ones and plug in the USBs.

  • Hey bro if u dont have a serial port on your comp. couldn't i just use one of those serial rs232 cable to usb adapter?

  • I've heard some say they work... Others say they don't.

  • @JohnnyMcKinney

what all do i need for the flash to work with windows 7?? Ive istalled the port io32 and all but it doesnt read the drive.. ive been told that my computer was too new.....?? i have a dell xps430.. please help

  • do i actually need this or can i just use my sata from my computer and power from xbox360? to extract the keys

  • Yes you need it if you have a Lite-On... Obviously you tried to connect your drive to the computer and extract the key without it... So don't ask such a stupid question.

  • Nah i was thinking about but i decided to make my own probe nice tut

  • Thx so much this was so easy I had a soldering iron and a solder along with wire. The links were very helpful, I am hoping to make one today, and the usb was an extremely helpful idea (another guide u had to connect to molex). O and so I just connect the usb and the 9 pin and the sata with the drive half open and the xbox powering it and it will get my key?

  • Same here. I took apart and reassembled the item thinking I may have put the transistor on backwards and still no luck. *Bad Serial Data*. Is the USB as a power source a proven method for powering the probe? Thank you for the video...it was much simpler to follow than the other schematics I've seen floating around.

  • When I use jungleflash with this home made circuit I either get bad serial read or sometimes Jungleflash just freezes up. I am using an nForce4 SATA chipset so it shouldn't lock up like the VIA's do. Any ideas?

  • You may have blown your resistors or your transistor.

  • can it be any usb? or does it have to be that special one?

  • Any. They all have a ground wire and a 12v wire.

  • Thanks a lot man, i was reading some other guides with pictures but some of them were confusing, but this video really cleared everything up

  • Ok great thanks just what I needed to know.

  • So would I still need the ck3 after I made this or would this be all I would need?

  • Any Connectivity Kit would make it easier, but it's not necessary. You can use your Xbox 360 as the power and your computer's sata port.

  • " that way you got something to grip and it doesn't slip and go in the wrong hole"(at 9:49 ) [that's what she said moment]

"make sure they don't touch cause then it would defeat the purpose"(at 10:04 ) [line of the video win]

JohnnyMcKinney rox my sox off! keep up da good work and the funny jokes!

  • Wow lol...

  • nice work. 5 stars

  • What exactly is a lite on probe?

  • Helps extract the keys needed for flashing Xbox 360 Lite-on DVD Drives to allow playing backups.

  • i couldnt see anything :( was all blury. but mynes allreadt flashed so it dont matter, i was just interested o whatch. five stars any way you look like you know hwat ur doing :)

  • first lol and great video
