  • So 80's!!!

  • Who is that singer that reminds me of a Phil Lynott so much? Somewhere around 4:00?

  • @FretboardToAsh That's Hansi Kursch, of Blind Guardian. Or as I like to call him, God.

  • @FretboardToAsh bbuy the disc, is in the label XDD

  • Jorn Lande: "Do we have the right to play gods?"

    You do, mate, you do...

  • @Qwebeck666 The man IS god!

  • kadlec98.....implying god and implying ipod is good

  • Anyone who regards this type of music as "cheesy" just doesn't appreciate musical talent.

  • i dont need any

    dye like every one

  • SO

    MUCH

    WIN

  • Gildenlow!!!

  • 3:55 aah, I fucking love that part! :D

  • I know the intro...but where did I hear it?

  • @MattDovahkiin Uh, this is original, this isn't rap where everything is stolen.

  • @Megadedly It reminds me of a Placebo song.

  • @Megadedly You tellin' me, they're all sounding the same. I was singing lyrics to "Break Your Heart" on the radio, but it was "International Love". They sound EXACTLY the same.

  • @MarinVillalpando15 haha! what a win!

  • @KarimBoctorAwad Haha yea! I am willing to fight for metal and its subgenres, as I hope that hip hop would stop being so damned mainstream and people could actually appreciate music like this that has meaning and amazing instrumentation and vocals.

  • This has got a very Thin Lizzy feeling vibe in parts. Loving it.

  • I got hooked on Ayreon first song I listened to.

  • This is on God's iPod.

  • @kadlec98 Do I have the right to create life? And do I have the right to take it?

    Yeah.

It's a song God can relate to, for sure. I don't think any human could.

  • @Jaremaing14 That's why god wrote it

  • @kadlec98 It is indeed on my iPod. :D

  • @kadlec98 Mp3 plyr - yes. God hate iPhones.

  • Arjen.........I just love you for making my musical world so happy. You are one brilliant composer. Thank you.

  • @TheGoddessCaroline Mr. Lucassen is just a musical genius :)

  • @TheGoddessCaroline He's one gifted composer, if the world could be a bit more open-minded, Arjen could be recognized everywhere. It's just his music tells such meaningful stories that pretty much applies to how we are as people, be it emotions, war, etc. And the musical compositions are just so unique and amazing. Ayreon is literally the only music I've been listening to whenever I'm on a computer :)

  • I like 2:47 and 4:12

  • I like 2:47

  • This song is absolutely astounding. Favorite Ayreon song I think.

  • 5:40 I have had this part stuck in my head for days. I love Ayreon!

  • People always say I wish music today could be like this. well guess what it is you just got to look in the right places.

  • The Thin Lizzy part at 4:13 is suuper tight!!

  • @JimmyTheWeed1 hhahha I know who you are!

  • @torridfire Really? Then who are youuuu?

  • @JimmyTheWeed1 I know what you are doing jeje. Listening to this masterpiece

  • Song may not be for all, but for all of us, it should have that grabbing effect when deciding if you even like this song...I give it a 9 in total grade muther fuckas, I'm kidding! But then again...maybe not!!!...

  • Ayreon and Avantasia should make a song together, which is like: awesomeness × awesomeness = awesomeness² :P

  • @GietjeM Avantasia sucks ass

  • @GietjeM

They have. Look up Ayreon vs. Avantasia

  • Joooooorn! <3

  • my greatest dream is seeing you in a concert ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ come to southamerica pleaseeeee

  • Jorn's singing in this reminds me of Phil Lynott.

God damn, is there no singer Jorn can't emulate, or, dare I say, surpass?

  • I thought of thin lizzy when I heard Jorn singing too hehe, its great.

  • this would be awesome if it wouldnt sound so dead. this should be played live.

  • Jorn Lande is incredible on this song.

  • The guys voice when he says "yaaa" sounds sooo effing hot <3 i love the ladies voice too, i wish music today could be like this T.T

  • @PudoozaTheConquer . . . this is only 2 years old

  • "Take me back when we lived another life, back to when we had no plan, Take us back when we struggled to survive, back to when it all began"

I loved it when Daniel & Floor repeated this part over.

  • holy fuck this song is amazing.

  • This is such a good friday night.

Sat here, spliff in one hand, mouse in the other, working on my game and listening to amazing music. Such a good feeling. And my gf wonders why I choose to stay home so often

    ¬_¬

  • "there must be a way to win back what we lost"

pretty much crapped my pants when Daniel sang that part... wow

  • Oh man. Hansi's part in this song is so inspiring and epic sounding!

  • Gildenlow + Hansi !!!! Can anything be better than this ?!?! Personally i believe gildenlow is one of the top voices out there...and yes the solo is Lori Lindstruth !!!

  • hanson? It's Hansi.

  • @kathyyyyyyyyy lol i think he's revering to the "that shining day there is a way" part sounds lik a pop song :p

it does sound awfully like an 80 mainstream song i have heard....

  • Yeah that's all fine for me, but his name's still Hansi, not hanson.

  • Ayreon has some of the deepest lyrics in songs i have seen in years. This puts them way at the top of my favorites.

  • @MetaL556 It's because pretty much all of their songs (and albums) are connected in some way. It's a story truly deserving to be called EPIC!

  • Hansii!!!

  • this is so beautiful almost makes me wanna cry

  • the solo sounds like petrucci...

  • It's Lori Lindstruth! And she's amazing

Petrucci never uses that much floyd rose squealing

  • on of the best songs i ever heard

  • Great sound in the solo at 2:30.

Gotta bit of Bodom about it.

  • Yes, Its Daniel Gildenlow voice.

  • hmmm is this Daniel Gildenlow? sounds like him

  • I love Hansi and Blind Guardian, but I feel like he is an understatement on this album. Which is really sad cause Hansi has the most epic voice I personally have ever heard.

I really think Hansi should have been used alot more then he was. Great album anyway just it needs more Hansi xD

  • It not that he wasnt used enough, its that he didnt have much time in the studio. The Lead Signer for BLIND GUARDIAN doesnt have all the time in the world :P

  • The thing with this album was that there were a lot of singers and none of them got a "lot" of time, but they all got equal time. Hansi is in a lot of songs, but none of the songs specifically showcase anyone. I personally really like this setup, I don't know why Arjen decided it didn't really work.

  • Is it only me, but what an amazing guitar solo by Lori L at 2.29

Damn, that girl can do some serious shredding! ;D

  • No, it's not just you! Her playing is simply brilliant :D

  • prolly one of my favorite solos evar

  • I really love all Albums from Ayreon....

At first every Album has a great Story and

    Hansi sings in this song...

I thing I don't had to say more....

On of the greatest songs ever....

  • buenisima, Jorn Lande, los cantantes de Blind GUardian... arg, muy buena

  • Sounds like someone from Blind guardian is in there? I don't know his name, sorry.

  • yes , it's hansi , the singer of blind guardian

  • GREAT WORK

  • Jorn and Hansi, and Bob.

    I need say no more.

  • Am I hearing wrong or is Daniel Gildenlöw from Pain of Salvation in this song?

  • It is

  • excelent....!

  • hansi lol

  • Amazing guitar solo, and I really like Jorn Lande's performance. Does anyone else find that his phrasing in this song sounds a bit like Phil Lynnot from Thin Lizzy?

  • Exactly what I've been thinking about all day! The part at 4.14 and forward really sounds like Lynnot :O

  • hansiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @brainmelter999 this is daniel gildenlow from pain of salvation -.-

  • @afanakias yes... but at 3:55 you you can hear the best voice in all of music my friend ,Hansi Kürsch !!

  • Daniel Gildenlow kicks so much ass!

  • Holy fuck i just came. aryon are fucking Insane

  • @barret707 Ayreon

  • @PukeCabin Woops yeah that was one of my first times listening to em but now im addicted.

  • @barret707 ayreon ISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS a band who IS insane,. ...no? is my english wrong?

  • @Sc0ttPrian Ayreon IS, that's right. But 'who' refers only to a person.

  • @Miunni isnt ayreon a band made up of one main person who fills in the parts after it has been written? thats the idea i got, im sorry i didnt mean to spark an argument, all in all, ayreon still rules :)

  • Ayreon is awesome . O1011001 is the best album of 2008 is sure!!!!

  • The Best 5 albums of 2008 at the moment IMO : XD

    1.Ayreon-01011001

    2.Opeth- Watershed

    3.Everon-North

    4.Metallica-Death Magnetic

    5.Korpiklaani-Korven kunningas

  • Metallica? bleh.

  • replace it for andromeda - the inmunity zone :D

  • I thought ObZen was pretty good as well, some classic songs on there. As soon as I find 01011001 somewhere in my city i will buy it on impulse.

  • metallica? WUT?

  • Worst list ever, but thanks for playing.

  • lol for someone who has 01 as the top album its suprizing to see the rest of your list. I dont want to offend you so please dont take this the wrong way, but maybe you have yet to discover more, better music. metallica was my favorite band in 8th grade so i can understand why you like them

  • @ProgressiveLands I don't even go searching for bands but i knew all of them when i was in middle-school, going back to this album ti introduce a friend to them.

  • This sounds like.. i dunno.. happy Opeth?

    Well, it's great anyway!

  • /facepalm

  • And that means?

  • lmao, happy opeth.

    that made me laugh.

  • Lol me too. But opeth is pretty cool...

  • Which idiot said that Opeth is awful?

  • So good singers for this song! It's not a surprise, sure, but... really, I love it!

    What a nice song!!

  • Thanks a lot, guys! It's amazing, cause I knew Jorn Lande, but I had never noticed this similarity before...

  • He can basicly turn into anyone. It's insane, I've never heard that kind of a vocalist before.

  • Ooooh Blind Guardian's singer and Jorn LAnde! PRetty bad ass! :D

  • THe male voice in the middle of the song sounds amazingly like Phil Lynott's, who's that guy, please?

  • I'm not sure who you're talking about, but the "Do we have the right..." stanzas are sung by Jorn Lande.

  • Ooo, thanks! I was wondering this too.. i really love that part!

  • no i think he is talking about. bob catley, because jorn comes in alittle after middle. jorns part is pretty damn good, jorn is jorn. one of the best vocalists of our time period.

  • naaah, just listen to some Lynnott song and the "Do we have the right" part and you'll notice the similarity :)

  • Yeah, like Anegon said, it's Lande. He's one of the best vocalists in metal today! He's like Coverdale, Dio, Plant, Lynnott, all of them in one! He's covered both "Are You Ready" and "Cold Sweat" by Thin Lizzy, among other classics. You should hear more of him, his solo career aswell!

  • You mean the voice at 3.40-ish?

    It's Bob Catley. Amazing singer.

  • No, at about 4.13.

  • xmas, newyears and my birthday came all at once :)
