So far the best of the non-Delta Force intros. Very dignified, and it shows the history that makes The Indianapolis 500 The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
I say, where are the real men the true thrill seekers the one's that push the envelope to reach the incredible speeds that separate the men from the boys. I say Where is the technology, and the competition . where are the crowds of 300,000 fans on pole day and 500,000 on race day. I say was it worth it. Tony G.
Not as good as some of the Delta Force intros, but hey, at least it's better than the last few on ABC, and definitely better than when they paraded Paul Dana's widow on National TV.
I went to the race this year and taped the coverage for when I got home...was I pleasantly surprised! After YEARS of these pretentious and stupid openings, ABC/ESPN finally came up with a nice, dignified opening in keeping with the rich tradition of Indy.
But if ever you have the chance to actually go to an Indy 500 you should go. (I admit being petrified of the weather forecast the night before, but it didn't rain). To get to walk on the track before turn 1 and go to Gasoline Alley is GREAT!

Best Indianapolis 500 Intro of the non "Delta Force ones" 2006 is a close 2nd. 2005 and 2008 both sucked!
