Meade ETX-125PE. Mounting & 2 star alignment (Alt/Az)

I'm thinking of getting one of these but I thought to set it up you only had to put your location'date and time in then point north

You know this was pretty good demo. It would be helpful if Meade provided a DVD with the scope show just how simple it is to align the tele. Tonight I going out to watch the lunar eclipse with the 125ATX. Love the PE features. Thanks man!

dude i messed up the thing when u set ur location how do i reset the home position thing plz tell me i got a meade DS-2000 series telescope today

and acidently messed up the location thing that hapeens in the beginning of setting it up

thank you for this post. My etx was ex display and had no manual and the finder was broken. I've replaced the finder but didn't know how to align it.

I,ve had my etx for 7 months now and I still haven't looked at the instructions properly.

What do you think of the etx and what extras or accessories have you bought?

I'm thinking about getting the autostar suite so that I can use my laptop , I have a few people who like to come round when i'm star gazing, It' great that I have mates who are interested but it's a real pain when you have a line of people waiting to look through the eyepiece, Hence the reason for the auto star suite!

Or if you're slighlty stupid like myself, you read it and it makes no sense, you spend nights out shouting at the scope for not aligning and then several hours shouting at youself for missing one obvious little thing like pointing the scope north! :)
