In 1996, a film loosely based on King’s life was released. In Grace of My Heart, an aspiring singer, Denise Waverly/Edna Buxton, sacrifices her own singing career to write hit songs that launch the careers of other singers. Mirroring King’s life, the film follows her from her first break, through the pain of rejection from the recording industry and a bad marriage, to her final triumph in realizing her dream to record her own hit album. @finhafinha There is no Denise Waverly. The movie was loosely based on the life of Carole King.Matt Dillon is portraying Gerry Goffin, Ms. King's ex-husband and collaborator. She wrote over 200 songs.  Look up the list. You'll be shocked to see how many hits Carole King wrote.

maybe because Burt Bacharach & Elvis Costello wrote THIS song

and so they wanted to sing it....

But I find Kristen Vigard sings this song with more "Grace Of Her Heart".

And Illeana Douglas interpret this unique song only with her lips...but

with so much enthusiasm that you think she really sings it out of her graceful heart...

You should buy yourself the DVD...than You can see with such a "graceful heart" the whole movie was created....

@Raindropser3 Great song indeed ! And you're right about Illeana Douglas, beautiful piece of acting on her part. The way she acts Denises's lack of self-confidence, the awkward way in which she moves her arms. It's clear she admires the male character a lot and that she's just written the song and doesn't know it perfectly well, counting the bars and so on.... (sorry for my english).
