There's one positive thing this video does: it gives a lot of motivation to study for academic university entrance exams so I don't have to apply to HAMK or something similiar. Or would if I wasn't already in an academic university.

Social life is PART of student life, I agree with that . But... that is not the way to show "respect" to us!!! This is totally wrong argument! One way to show respect to all students including international and finnish programs is integrating them in different activities and also improving so much as possible the degree programs, but so no no no. Please take in consideration this comment and reply with valid arguments.
@Higoeric What kind on improvements are you looking after? HAMK is spending a lot of resources to provide the best possible education and premises - much more that is spent on marketing. Rome wasn't built in day. Hope we can build a strong HAMK_UAS together!
@Higoeric HAMK UAS has an international strategy. It includes a project for the staff to improve their international capabilities (including language skills). So we are working to make things better. Thanks for your advice!
Gotta say that I'm not interested in HAMK that much, but when we visited HAMK Turnee and Simon performed this song to us, I wished that I actually would have been interested in studies in HAMK. :D

I think everyone knows the real reason, but I would also like to hear the official opinion.
The objective of the Finnish Ministry of Education is that the number of international students in Finnish higher education institutions should double.Students from many different countries abroad studying in Finnish universities make the international programmes truly international.
In HAMK we want to build a student community where internationalisation and students from different cultures are a natural part of it. We also want this to be seen in all of our activities also in marketing and communications. This video is our way of doing it.
I find all commercials including this video as a big mistake and waste of a lot of resources that can be used for other proposes e.g. books, special courses, projects, etc. This rests a lot of credibility and shows HAMK as just a place where fashion students just have social life!
The objective of the Finnish Ministry of Education is that the number of international students in Finnish higher education institutions should double. According to Finnish law, there can be no tuition fees for Finnish or international students. All application documents are checked very carefully. Its sad to hear that some applicants have tried to apply to universities with wrong or forged documents. HAMK does not have any students who applied with forged documents.

It's not our responsibility to offer free education to anyone except our own citizens. Exchange students can come here of course. Well you should be proud of Finland offering free education to not only the people from the fortress Europe but from anywhere in the world. That's the way it should be everywhere. There's not too much foreign students in finnish universities anyway, so cut the crap.
I'm not proud of wasting finnish people's money. The tax money that we use to educate africans is out of finnish people's health care for example. Finland is one of the smallest EU countries, why should we educate africans for free if the other bigger EU countries don't? It's also unfair to our european brothers, because so many of these africans dissappear into other EU countries after they have gotten a student visa. It is a way to get into Europe illegally.
Hate to break your fantasy but these africans have only a student visa, they have to leave Finland after their studies. To get a job and a residence permit and eventually a citizenship from Finland, you have to learn finnish and speak it fluently. And most finnish employers wont hire a *n-word here* anyway. Best job that you can get is some shitty cleaning job or driving the bus with a crappy pay. Bachelor's degree ain't worth shit, everyone has them in Finland.

His apartment is probably some cheap student housing and he eats cheap food at the university diner and bus fares are cheaper for students. Those things don't really cover the amount his education costs to finnish taxpayers. Wake up finns! We can't really afford this. Kuten oli odotettavissa, video herättää keskustelua puolesta ja vastaan. Videon esiintyjät ovat kaikki HAMKin opiskelijoita - suomalaisia ja ulkomaalaisia. He ovat mukana, koska viihtyvät yhdessä ja nauttivat opiskelustaan sekä haluavat kertoa asian videon keinoin. Video on tehty varsin maltillisella budjetilla, mahdollisimman pitkälti omin voimin, eikä sen TV-esityksestäkään ole maksettu suuria mainosrahoja. Sitä on esitetty ohjelmien täytteenä, ei mainoksena.
This video really caught my attention when I saw it for the first time; its a different way to promote a school, at lest in Finland! And I also found it very contemporary, so cool work Simon and other students! Nice to see that somebody enjoys his studies so much that wants to make a sng/ a video out of it! (Even though if the purpose of it was economic.) I really dont get it why people want to fight about something as obviously POSITIVE in Finland as this! Shame on you haters! And I am Finnish!

Well you should be proud of Finland offering free education to not only the people from the fortress Europe but from anywhere in the world. That's the way it should be everywhere. There's not too much foreign students in finnish universities anyway, so cut the crap.

I'm not proud of wasting finnish people's money. The tax money that we use to educate africans is out of finnish people's health care for example. Finland is one of the smallest EU countries, why should we educate africans for free if the other bigger EU countries don't? It's also unfair to our european brothers, because so many of these africans dissappear into other EU countries after they have gotten a student visa. It is a way to get into Europe illegally.

Hate to break your fantasy but these africans have only a student visa, they have to leave Finland after their studies. To get a job and a residence permit and eventually a citizenship from Finland, you have to learn finnish and speak it fluently. And most finnish employers wont hire a *n-word here* anyway. Best job that you can get is some shitty cleaning job or driving the bus with a crappy pay. Bachelor's degree ain't worth shit, everyone has them in Finland.

will get citizenship because they dont even have work.
I do not have nothing against them, some of them are my friends but dont speak things are not real. It is also truth that we shouldnt be treated like silverback says because we have to work and study. Some of my friends deliver newspapers when its -20 and I think these people deserve the chance to study.

His apartment is probably some cheap student housing and he eats cheap food at the university diner and bus fares are cheaper for students. Those things don't really cover the amount his education costs to finnish taxpayers. Wake up finns! We can't really afford this. Why are we so stupid that we pay the education of nigerians or other non-europians? No other country lets them study for free. And some nigerians don't even study. It's become a way for them to get illegally into Europian Union.

He ovat mukana, koska viihtyvät yhdessä ja nauttivat opiskelustaan sekä haluavat kertoa asian videon keinoin. And I also found it very contemporary, so cool work Simon and other students! Nice to see that somebody enjoys his studies so much that wants to make a sng/ a video out of it! Niin käyttävät ja se on yksinkertaisesti väärä ja harhaanjohtava nimitys. University of applied
sciences, eli soveltavien-, kevyt-, käytännön- tai miksi sitä sitten ikinä haluaa kutsua tieteiden yliopisto ei tarkoita Suomen mallin mukaista ammattikorkeakoulua kuin ammattikorkeakoulujen mukaa.
