@moolate127 Well it's not the best reference, I admit, but the current Disney "Nature" flick shows a male lion sending several crocs packing. They seem to be at their best in their own environment and in groups. They usually leave hippos alone, and with good reason.

All I know for sure is that I will not be swimming in any rivers in Africa or Asia (or Australia) that have crocodiles in them.

@JinxOz Gators' snouts are shorter and more rounded and they don't grow to be as big as crocs do. Also, gators don't live in Africa. Both are very dangerous but crocs are probably the more aggressive of the two. They've been know to attack boats whereas a gator will probably run the other way.

@dmcII Not really shorter, those with short snouts are caimans. Crocs and gators differ from their teeth. And crocs have the glands (I forgot) that enable them to swim in salt water. Also, crocs move much faster on land compared to gators.

That thing that the crocodile killed is not a Lion. It looks more like a gazelle than anything. Its not that the Lioness are scared of crocs but they are not stupid to jump in the water when you can clearly see that there are a lot of crocodiles in the enviroment that favors them.

The video don't show any crocodiles outside the water by the area the Lions are cause they would get owned.

There is actually a video on youtube of a crocodile walking out of water to hunt a young lion cub. The crocodile makes the cub squeal which brings the whole herd over immediately. It was amazing to watch them attack a crocodile out of its element. They nearly killed it however it got back to water in time before sustaining a fatal wound. Nature is amazing.

The sad thing is that people forget to live and believe in an illusory safety.
