Earmarks are bad. These projects may be good, but should be funded through the agencies already established via the agencies budgets. There these projects can be weighed against each other and the best submitted in the agencies budget. I don't want my Senator Claire having to review a $100 M study for duck doo-doo when she needs to be macro-managing rather than being tied to micro-managing. Senator McCaskill you are 100% right on earmarks.

Senator McCaskill,thank you for bringing my attention to this Anti-earmark legislation.

I do wish to point out that it is not "a fantasy that the money for earmarks is created out of nothing". Unfortunately every penny the government spends is created out of thin air by the Federal Reserve Bank while taxes collected only go to paying the interest on the debt accumulated to date. Need money for additional gov programs or bailouts? Print more money!
