  • Sounds thin / very digital....

  • Sounds thin..

  • Great tune but the bass is not fat enough.

  • Can someone tell me whats the major difference between the virus ti2 polar and the virus ti2 keyboard?

  • (Love your stuff-also HELP) new TI owner here: just bought a Virus TI, I am new to synths in general, ahd much of th ejuno series alll monotimberal - when the keyboard is in split mode - I now you cn control the setting of each sound on one zone and the other - can you control the volume? Do you hve to save the sound to do this? ANYONE or yourself anwering would be big help - no one seems to know and I like spliting as opposed to just laying it on another track.

  • Sorry but the "pluin sound" is NOT as "full," FAT and unique as the REAL ACCESS VIRUS TI2! I just got one btw, UNREAL!!!

And i have all the major ones: nexus, vanguard, omnisphere, rob papen's, etc.

people should stop wasting your time with plugins too much and get real hardware synths. I would say this... 70% hardware, 30% plugins.

  • I am a producer and I'm going from plugins to outboard gear. I just bought an Access TI2 keyboard. I have Logic 9 and need a bit of help please. How do you route the sixteen sounds within the plugin to different "channel tracks" so that I could record it in in Logic 9?

I also have a "Motu 828" as my "audio" interface and a Motu 128 as my "midi" interface. I just can't seem to do this. Can you please guide me?

    Waiting for your response.

    -Marino

  • I agree with marantzamp. Hardware is better. Can't you all hear the sameness of sound on every patch? Get a rev 2 prophet five, get it restored and hear what it's all about. The worst thing about this samenees of sound is when it used on repeating lines. That's when it really sucks the life out the listening experience.

  • all that wasted space on the surface of the synth, you could put so many more knobs in there.

  • @soopahsoopah now I have never used a TI personally but I think theres alot to be said for simplicity. you have what you NEED and you can get to the rest. If you have 3000 keys knobs buttons and sliders then its way too easy to get lost, especialyl playing live. just a thought.

  • What this tell me, is that this only does Dance.

  • @therealKINDLE

    Meh.

All synths come preset with garbage dance and trance presets. Garbage, meaning they're completely overused even in those genres. But once you learn how to patch well, there's a new world of possibilities.

For example, my Korg R3 is packaged with tons of crap dance patches. A while patching, and I have now made a bright elec. guitar along with a more metal one, a whole string section (that keeps the whole 8 polyphony, yay for waveshapes!) and a beautiful recorder/flute.

  • Do something innovative with it!

  • is the Roland FC-300 MIDI Footswitch Controller Compatible with the Roland Fantom G Workstation or not ?

    please any one knows

  • 3,000 USD for the polar of this controller, go burn in any place Access.

  • The most overhyped overpriced synth on the market...

  • it's still the best!!!

  • why? whats better in the same price range?

  • and the best

  • yeah not worth his price

  • overpriced.....maybe

    overhyped....definitely not

  • from the few demos I've seen so far, and knowing little about this synth, and a fair amount about others, I have to agree with you. Get a DSI, an Adromeda or a Korg instead.I'm sure it does more than these cheesy demos, but this could be done in Reason. WHat is with the constant space tweaks circa 1982 - for the retro crowd who think the 80s were special. I gotta laugh.

  • Name some better for less. Do you own one?

  • Comment removed

  • Ziv Vainer (Iron Madness) told me that he made songa with this and cubase..i wish i could make music in these softwares..

  • Love the virus. Ti software is really touchy though. I just go straight audio out.

  • Sounds fantastic, i have one Virus Classic and sounds clear crystal, terrific but in many aspects sounds too digital the TI, the Ti is not match for one Alesis Andromeda, even the moog dont match the A6, clear like this: A6 still in production since 2000.

  • It sounds digital coz it's also an wavetable...if u have a Classic you should know that.

  • The TI desktop is a module which has no built in keyboard/Pitch bend and modulation wheel and takes up less room in your studio setup.

The sounds (power) and functions are the same as the TI Keyboard 61 note and the TI Polar 37 note.

  • @GCom67 Then why would anybody buy Polar with 37 keys for the same price as the TI keyboard with 61 keys? Am I missing something here?

  • Nice tune , did you make it? :)

  • Vorsprung durch Technik

    German quality

  • THE GREATEST OF ALL!

  • The beauty of the the Ti line is that though most of the factory patches and demos sound like german techno / house, These synths can really emulate prog or ambients synths so well. like the CS-80, MiniMoog and jupiter 8. Once i started to program mine (polar and 61key versions) it has realy replaced all my analog gear. Absolutely the best VA on the planet. Also the best reverb on a keyboard I have ever heard! And the Best filters ! Very versitle synth!

  • Would this work with FL Studios?

  • Yes. It runs as a plugin called Virus Control. So you can edit and automate all parameters in your DAW.

  • sweet!!!

  • How great to see something that isn't made in China for a change.

  • hey if i want to make trance, Particularly Psytrance, and i plan on using a computer to mix and actually compose the songs on, what would be the ideal synth to get on which i could make basslines, drums, hats, synth and effects on and i could just upload the sounds or loops onto the computer and lay it on the timeline in there?

  • The Virus is very much geared towards trance sounds though it can get close to emulating the classic analogs and also FM synths like the DX1. There are plenty of presets built into the TI and also a massive online collection to download which can be loaded to the synth via the software on your PC. You can use the TI like a vsti when creating your sequences in your DAWS.The best thing to do really is goto your local music store and check out what's what.Best wishes.

  • thanks a lot! =)

  • @czerwonymike You could also buy a very nice synthesizer and proceed to throw it out the window because the world is no longer in need of any psytrance, and, dare I say, it never was.

  • Use Virus TI or Waldorf Blofeld for dance, trance, underworld, electronic, etc, with those masterpieces you can make the sounds of you dreams just expend alot of time programing them for see they olmost endless options.

  • whats a good synth for trance, goa or psy?

  • I have a v-synth gt and though it's a really crazy synth it's not specialized for trance. I would say the Virus TI would be a great choice. That's going to be my next keyboard and I plan on making Trance as well. :)

  • thanks thats what i was planning on looking at =). what program do you think is best for mixing and making songs?

  • Try looking up Ableton Live and Apple Logic Pro

  • we are gonna upload grappy fabric demos now?

    :( btw i got a virus and a northlead

if u want a warm'analoge'sound buy a north everybody who is saying its sound thin, cant program a synth

if your not in to that and want some good but outdated (drum) sounds go 4 a virus

  • wel d3p3ch3, the virus is 16 parts / 64 voices but in reality you'll never be able to use al 16 parts simultaneously ,want some advice ...go for the nord modular g2 ..it goes verry deep (only 4 parts ) or buy a waldorf q ....

  • are the drums from the virus as well?

  • tottaly agree nightstep ...but soundwise it comes down to the quality of the D.A.C's ( digital to analog converters ) and how good the algoritms (code) are writtento emulate an analogue synth ...I'm notsaying a vvirus sounds bad ...but it's pure oscillators ( with no effects )sounds verry thin to me ..compared to a nord modular or reaktor ..etc

Young people are to blinded by that fancy virus name

    peace

  • i was checking out nords on ebay because i've been trying to save up for one for a long time but found a guy who was selling his nord because he said it didn't sound as good as "analog equipment or a virus" ..this got me checking out viruses on youtube, now you said that... it's driving me crazy trying to figure out what to make such a huge investment in, argh

  • Leaving technical matters out, I listen to both nord lead & virus & in my opinion nord lead sounds thin, not as robust as virus. Nord Lead sounds to me as if its sound were comming from a little plastic box.

So I guess it depends what u are looking for, I don't say one is bad & the other is good, I just consider one has a fat sound & the other a thin one. Just by listening, because I own none of them.

  • i got a nord... i like it better because internal effects are a waste of money, they jsut sound digital and they're just there to mask the already digital sounding oscillators

  • I totally agree with u about effects. Some things are not very usefull for some people in synths.

But well, it's always good to know different oppinions, so if one day I'm able to buy one of this little beats i can choose wisely as u did!

    Long live Depeche Mode!!! ;)

  • agreed sir... you should save up for one and keep an eye on ebay, they're cheaper than most guitars if you get a used rack version which i recommend, i think virus is even less since they're more in supply

  • you can save a bunch of money if you get an ION. It is cheap and sounds better than the virus or the nord.

  • @MARANTZamp A voice of reason !!!

  • :0 so many knobs it looks so confusing

  • cold sound but that seems to be the norm with the newer boards.

  • lavaka you don't know shit ..there are vst 's that kick the shit out of the virus ...the virus is just as digital like a vst ...try reaktor and the fabfilter twin vst ....the fabfilter ( thats a dutch software company )twin's filter sounds way better than a virus ....

  • LOL I tried out both and Fabfilter is great and has almost any of the featurtes the virus has, but it really doesn't sound like the virus but like products from novation (have an a-station at home).

  • bwahahah reaktor sounds so amatuer compared to the virus.

  • Aaah see you like the direct sound, the hardware nuts like whats called "circuit sound" no matter what sound it is if its passed through a circuit it colors the sound in some way. Me personally enjoy both plugins and hardware. its not what you have its how you use it dont you think? :)

  • hardware is better.

I prefer having kool stuff, than just using plug ins. those are boring....

  • @MARANTZamp and if your mouse keepsacting up like mine it hard to get exactly what you want

  • @MARANTZamp Different strokes I guess, I'd rather have awesome sounds and a lot of power than having something that "looks cool" and is less powerful. Hardware can be pretty fun though, but I guess thats why you get different midi controllers

  • i tried this and the refx shit (nexus and vanguard) and virus sound quality/filters etc blows the cheap ass refx softsynth away. refx has virus character, but the filters really lack in quality compared to the virus. refx sounds like paper/plastic like most vsts...i still like korg sound over virus, but virus is good for crazy shit

  • Yeah, "fade to grey" with a Virus Ti.

  • i have 10 giga of drumming stuff hit hat effects snares and drums and everything

  • cool,the beat from???

  • this synth is amazing for trance and really good for all other electronic music so if you dont like electronic music i suggest you dont buy this synth . but if you do GET IT NOW !!!!!!!

  • its more than capable of doing all other styles of music one would use a synth for.

  • I must have it!!!

  • the Virus sounds great! when's the video with you in it coming? :)
