Not one for often laying down the memories, but fuck me I remember in Amersterdam think it was around 1990. We rented a van and drove to Holland from Manchester. Wow was like something out of a movie, what a night that was. Feel so sorry for the youth today, hopefully one day they will get to experience it some day... here's hoping!
I Remember, me In Cuba in 1992 Try to get POWER 96 station from Miami they were play this Big Classic ...make me cry..was good time music...House Forever
@tarmitron you think they'd be popular? Today it's more important to flash some tits and dress up in a stupid outfit. The actual song matters much less.
The Tunnel Mix was always the bomb. Still sounds tuff and sexy and soaring all at the same time - esp the break - makes you want to raise your hands to the sky or cry. Maybe both.
amazing drugs back then kicked down barriers that were there in society. then we went out and heard genuinely uplifting and positive tunes like this, which then made us even more positive as people and more fluffy and loved up and the vibe just went round in a beautiful circle....when did it break down so tragically? I think when the gangsters got heavily involved and E/dance music became an industry. not to say it's all wank nowadays but you just cannot compare. love you all :)
Pure Classic House....too bad there wont be another Tunnel during the 80's...but glad I was able to experience and those who did as well know the feeling walking out at daylight.
I never managed to get a good version of this when I was playing, so used a crappy 3 minute edit of it. This is what I wanted!! just a simple extended version!
I've played this tune for over a hundred times and can't get enough!!! Love everybody who loves this song as much as me!!! -X- Miss-sparkling, Sassenheim, Holland!!!

This give me the sparx inside... damn wha a tune. remember the old days at the roxy in Amsterdam. Was dancing with a realy realy hot chick. now 15 years later I will merry here...in summer 2011. and yeah she is still hot......... hehhehe
Same feeling here, this version still keeps me smiling and makes me happy. Where lots of tracks in this genre sound dated anno 2010 and did not stand the test of time, this feelgood track seems to become an Evergreen... how unique for a House track!
Saundersons's masterpiece. Could it be of the somewhat more complex measures in the bassline/rhythm, or is the gospel ingredient that makes it a timeless track?
markygant you're so right. im blessed that my youth was marked by inner city. i grew up in soweto, south africa and i remember dancing for my cousins to inner city in the kitchen.
you brought the memorys flooding back; looking out of the Cross into the garden as the sun rises.... nothing like it in the world. You can keep you mountain views!
I remember buying Testament 93 as a complete flyer from the supermarket a couple of years after it was released...and what an impulse buy it turned out to be! I bought the CD to replace the tape last year!!! Absolutely hits the spot!
I love this track...THX.

inner city was never nearly s popular as they should have been. if released today, most of the inner city songs would no doubt be mega-popular.

BIG tune! Timeless. How I wish they made House music like this nowadays.
What happened to the loving vibe?
They packaged it, marketed it, categorised it and killed it. That's what!
Tragic! So tragic.
