Hello I am trying to find out if this is applicable to me. I just got a new PSU for my HP a6203w Mid tower desktop. It is a Thermaltake TR2 430 Watt I think, and I got an ATI 5450 1gig video card. I have PCI Express x16 and a top mounted full size power supply, any advice from anyone?
That was awful.............. I got sick halfway through cause you moved the camera around like you were on crack....... nice tv tho is that a magnavox? you might need to upgrade that before your computer... And its always awesome When you use the word thingy it really helps your credibility.
Alright, I have the EXACT same power supply as you. Now, I plug EVERYTHING in properly and no power. I switch the button on the power supply to "I" and still noting. I think i have a dead power supply or could it be something else in my computer? PLEASE HELP
I would also suggest to take a picture of your old setup to help guide your new installation.. Also, take some scotch tape and label each wire that is connected to your computer's components so you know exactly what connector goes to what. That way, you can match the new connectors with the old ones.
Hey, I think you have a very close computer model to me, I have an HP a6203w, and I had a few questions. I am replacing the stock bestec 250w, with a Corsair 430cx model, and was curious, it should have all the plugs correct? I mean, the correct ones, I am just paranoid about putting it on there and it having wrong connectors or something. I am also purchasing an ATI 5670 (the reason why I'm buying the PSU lol), and was wondering, how does that seem to fit in these cases?
@PixPoint well if you have a fan it will stay cool. But if you are using more watts than your power supply can handle constantly, then it might overheat and shortwire. This can happen by using a $150 graphics card which uses a mojaority of the psu.
alright so i bought a 450w for my dell inspiron and when i connect all the cables and turned it on, nothing happened. took it back after messing with it and bought it agian, nothing happened, put my old 300w one back in and it worked perfectly
is it not easier to have the old one sitting outside the comp still connected and replace each wire one by one, i mean if your a newbie i dont mean you i just mean for people who are?
at 3:28..dont know if you still dont know why it came like that..but different motherboards have different connectors. some are 20, some are 24 pinconnectors for the "monster" cable you said.
if you happen to have a 24 pin connector, just reattach that cable, but if you had a 20 pin connector, youd just unattach it.

does it matter which to which?

you havent got an air vent on the bottom of the case, so the extracted hot air will be blown up into the case.
