uh YES BennySund95 this IS the troops the Romans had. By the time the Romans took the city of Alesia the reforms of Gaius Marius had taken place which transformed the Roman army. The unit types and tactics had changed and the armor had improved some as well. The types of troops the Romans had would continue to change as the empire changed but these were indeed the troop types that the Romans had.

Agreed stupid tactics, I wiped out a superior force of 4 to 1 with the gauls against the romans, with proper tactics. I pulled their ranks apart and picked them off.

you used a few too many fades in the video it tends to disorient people. other than that great video. The music really fits the emotion of the movie.

BTW, bungledsqc Alexander was a Macedonian, he conquered Greece and Persia. But how long did his empire last ? 10 years. After Alexander death the empire was divided in several smaller kingdoms, ruled by the Diadochs, Alexanders most important Generals.

And the Romans didnt steal the Greek culture. The Greeks toucht the Romans their culture. They were neighbours, they had the same mythology, habits, ...

actually Romans army used to be the same as the Greeks but they chanced to the legionaries system just look at a Greek army and a roman if you cannot tell the difference you have a a big problem

ah mark1fenix sorry for not answering. You can either highlight everyone, and pick once anywhere you would like them to go.. but the better way is to put them in any formation you like, then group them, ungroup them and group them again.. now when you have that group selected, and hold right click anywhere on the map... they will move to that postion in formation, its pretty nice

yeah i havn't actually made THE actual seige of alesia, and your right, he didn't hjave these imperial soldiers. But its meant to be half fictional. But im having troubles with my RTW game,i uninstalled it and no can't reinstall, so until i get that sorted, no more RTW videos sorry :(

hey man, i know how to work the camera 10 times better in RTW using the movie_cam, im really stuck for time now, but i might redo the first video, "last stand of

the gauls" same music, same battle, but way better camera movements, better timing with music etc, what do you think?

Checked it out on Wiki, apparently there was a battle of Alesia, it was a siege. Caeser surrounded the city, then the Gauls attacked out of Alesia and another Gaul army attacked from outside, so kind of like this, but in reality nothing like it.

Caeser won though.

I remember now, I did a report on Caesar (years ago). I think he built two temporary walls, put his army in between them, and cut the Gauls off from supplies and reinforcements. Vercingetorix eventually surrendered.

Of course, Caesar wouldn't be using Imperial troops, like the ones in the Vid.
