New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini June 1 2011.wmv

Several astrologers say that the eclipse on June 1 happens in the sign of Gemini, but if you check an actual star map (like Stellarium), you'll see that the sun was in the middle of the sign of Taurus, and quite far away from Gemini.

My question is: Why doesn't astrologers update the dates for the different signs according the the Earth's precession (the 25800 year cycle)?

Considering that the zodiac has been observed for at least 2000-2500 years, it is about one "sign" wrong now.

That is Verdic Astrology and they do.

In western Astrology we use a fixed zodiac belt based on the 1st day of spring not where the star constellation is. So that is why. Very simple really.
