I think that Mrs. Whitehouse real quarrel was with media that was monpoly owned. I can understand how people of differign beliefs feel left out with it ocmes to mass media as it is controlled and cartelized. In the States there is very little that does not come out of Hollywood. I woud like to see media that is avaiable to more points of view. I would not want Chritian media, but I do not think it is good that it's all overly edgy either. There should be more of free market in ideas.

This episode was supposedly written after Mary Whitehousecommented about 'Til Death Do Us Part. She didn't complain again after this was broadcast. That is comic genius. Our humour owes a lot to Warren Mitchel and Johnny Speight.

this is amazingly groundbreaking for a sticom from 1967. US tv at the time would never have anything like this. I mean look at what was playing on american tv the same time shows like this were on in Britain, like petticoat junction and andy griffin, i dream of genie and junk like that lol

It came into circulation among collectors about 15 years ago, possibly directly from producer Dennis Main Wilson. Hopefully Network will eventually release a DVD of all the surviving b&w footage, especially as 2 more episodes were recently recovered.
