how do u stop using this? i tried this in graphic design today and i couldnt get it to stop so i ctrl alt deleted then got back in there to make it stop
You don't need to hold down the left mouse button for the entire selection. Once you click the start point, you let go of the mouse button and trace your selection. If you want any additional anchor points, you can click the mouse again, say at a very sharp turn.
To change the size of your brush, just click either left or right bracket (right of "P" on KB)
Use "space bar" to grab and move your pic around on the canvas.

Sorry but if you made a mistake and selected a non desirable area, you DON'T need to start all over again! Just take a look at this tutorial:
"Selections in Depth—The Magnetic Lasso tool"

If a fastening point is placed in the wrong area, press the backspace key to undo that point.
