  • Thanks so much for the info, I have been searching forums and anything that net searches would provide. Would the oil pan be a oil pan for a 90 ZX11? Does this move the oil cooler back away from the headers?

  • @wvkng Any year ZX11 oil pan will work. The ZX10 uses different length hoses that would make the cooler hit the header pipes when mounted. Aftermarket ZX11 exhaust come in either left or right side exit. You can use whichever you can get a hold of...as long as you have the oil pan.Left side exit is said to be worth 3-4 more horsepower as it is a straighter pipe vs the right side exit which has a 90 degree bend right in front of the centerstand.

  • @suzy1052 Thanks again, I hate to keep asking you questions on this matter but I have too. With the ZX11 oil pan do I need to also get the oil lines that go with that oil pan? one more, does your oil cooler sit in front of the exhaust closer to the engine or does your oil cooler sit on the outside of the exhaust headers closer to the front tire,

I know it sounds stupid but I had to ask. Thanks for all your help. I did look up micron but no help, I can however get the V&H pipes.

  • @wvkng Yes you will need the ZX11 hoses. The oil cooler will sit in front of the head pipes. If you are in the US I will ask around some of the forums I belong to and see if someone has a ZX10 specific exhaust to save you the headache.

  • @suzy1052 Thanks for that info, yes I am in Va Bch, Va..

  • @wvkng Looks like a website called gotomoto.com has some D&D systems starting at 459.00 and up.

  • @suzy1052 FREAKN AWESOME< ILUV D&D PIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have full systems available for 88-90 ZX10's :)

    Thank You!!!!

  • Could you tell me exactly which bike that 4into1 exhaust is made for that you have on the zx10. I have the same bike with stock exhaust which needs replacing but I can not find muzzy or vance and hines exhaust made for the 89 ZX10 they are all made for the 90zx11, exact model number would help, thanks.

  • @wvkng This was a V&H Supersport exhaust made specifically for the 88-90 ZX10.You can still get a Micron for it...they were on sale from their website last year for around 500.00.Its either that or keep your eyes peeled on ebay.No one has made an exhaust for this bike in over 10 years maybe more.Any ZX11 after market exhaust will bolt right up however you need to change the oil pan over too or the oil cooler will hit the headers.

  • 123 hp on the wheell?

  • nice :)

    i got 130bhp... zx11D topend/pistons, 10 cams, 11carbs and 10 filterbox, modded to fit onto the 11 carbs.

stock 11 needles, it runs slightly rich in the 3k regions, and then its power is bottomless :)

Best things to mod on the 10 are the front brakes, the 17"rear rim and the suspention. :)

afaik there are no differences between 10 and 11 cams... you can swap the crank, 11's are lighter (more bhp, less torque).

@kiki4hayabusa : Not everyone goes in to rev limiter.. ;)

  • do all zx 10 have rev limiter?! iv seen some zx10 vides on you tube and some of them dont have rev limiters?!

  • Almost bought an old beat up ZX10R today, same paint job; for 300$. Unfortunately the seller didn't have the title. :(

  • Would have been cheaper buying a zx9f than doing that work , which would be lighter and faster .

  • I have a 1989 zx10 experienced same problem....Its in the carbs your too lean my bike ran a 10.1 at 136mph in 1/4

  • Actually it turned out to be too rich.I took out the Dynojet soft springs and put the stock ones back in and it runs cleanly throughout the entire rpm range.

  • the best bike on the entire planet is the ninja zx10,1989 model, that is the only bike that I would buy first, nothing else can be my first pick. period.

  • Thanks.Prior to that dyno session I installed ZX11 pistons and a jet kit plus cleaned up the intake ports. The bucking and bogging you see at the beginning of each pull was cleared up by a valve adjustment.I have since added ZX11 cams and a V&H Powerpak ignition box.The bike now feels about 10hp stronger and thats good enough for me.Other mods are a ZX11 17" rear wheel and ss brake lines on the front

  • Great sounding ZX! Besides the exhaust, what other mods do you have?
