Do not buy from Year One as they randomly send an engine from either Hi Tech or Derebery Performance. You want the latter, I have heard of engines being full of shavings from Hi Tech, I ordered mine directly from Derebery Performance, who is a leader of Racing Boat motors.

year one just recently started selling the 350's with 400 plus hp for about 3 grand.

all i been hearing for the last 5 yrs is "stroker" well i bet this 350 is gonna be king of the hill for a while (small blocks anyway)

i havent been this excited since they came out with quarter panels for the chevelle. ha ha.

this motor is next on my list for my 71 c20 pickup with 700r..

do 350 crate engines burn more fuel than regular 350 engines? naturally i assume, yes.

my real question is the gas millage really different between the engines..??

Thank you for your question. It is only called a crate engine because it is delivered in a crate and is already built. The crate engine name does not mean it gets better or worse gas millage.

Dude.....id believe it maybe, if you were talking about the eighth mile. And you were confusing the mph with kph....With that mph, you would be running a very low 8 second quarter, and your "600 hp" engine DOES NOT have the Beans to do that. You'd need at least 1000-1200 hp in a full weight car to run that kinda time and mph.

your not gonna run 9 seconds in the quarter with a 400 horse 350....the car that its in right now, depending on gearing, should run a high to mid 12 if it could hook-up.

my 350 is gonna put 600 or more horses when im done with it and over 500 pounds of torque mine is going to run faster than 9 seconds for a 1/4 mile

600 ponies is not nearly enough to run a sub-9 second quarter. not unless its in a rail or a tube-chassis car, even then i doubt a sub-8 second quarter, i could see a low to high 9 with a 600 horse 350 in say, a 2500 lb car and a two speed glide.
