The ending is actually better than the final version. It's on par with typical NES endings, and at least doesn't slap you in the face with the "It never happened because it was a dream." junk.

@EdmacZ My thoughts exactly. We could have had more adventures in sub con world. All the intro says is that he went to a nearby cave and found the entrance. It lets the player think for themself. Was it all a dream? Did they go home at the end? It leaves it up to you.
