Stop motion animation / paper replacement animation. You could try watching a short film called Hedgehog in the Fog if you're interested in seeing more.

(Not aesthetically or thematically related in the least but they're related in terms of "kind of art" / stop motion with flat images.)

Oh, okay. You mean studying animations with the same kind of atmosphere? Nana definitely has her own style going and POKO is very unique...There are plenty of horrifying animations out there and a good number start off deceptively cute, but I don't think there's much out there that's just like this. I could suggest stuff but I can't think of anything with a super Japanese aesthetic...
