This is how: you have a cartel and you use gold as the fractionalization medium. 10:1 ratio means gold should go to 5000/oz. At Goldman's ratios of 40:1 you get 20,000/oz.

We'd better have our finger to the wind though. Sell too late and an ounce could be worth less than a can of tuna, a seed, or a bullet. Everyone should own a good cross-bow, good hunting knife, basics, in addition to food, etc.
