  • Holy shit , the title always reminds me of the website ... :S

  • whats so bad about re-heating rice?

i do it all the time

  • Well we don't cook rice like pasta, drain it and stuff. We cook it in a pot with water just enough for it to cook the rice in and when it's cooked there won't be any liquid left .

  • all of your recipies are so HELPFUL and YUMMY! :) thank you so much!

  • i made a healthier version of this tonite by using very little oil, brown rice, brocolli and babycorn and i added a little bit of steak spice..tasted great!!..thank u for the recipe..u guys make it look so simple, it really motivates me to cook.. ;)

  • Nice recipe, but I couldn't help noticing that you used the same shot twice at 4:07 and 4:13. Was that just an editing mistake or did you mean to have that? :)

  • satay chicken like from chinese takeaway

  • So this is how it's done? I'm definitely going to try it. My dad tried to make fried rice once. He actually tried to fry dry rice kernels in oil lol.

  • I wouldn't use the same knife that you used to chop raw bacon to chop your egg.

Very good recipe. Easy to make you guys do a excellent job on showing people how simple great food can be to cook.

  • Just made this for my family. It was so delicious!!!!

Thank you so much we have enjoyed many of the recipes you have posted.

  • in a stir fry i usually put in the garlic close to the end so it doesn't burn

  • is this good for diet? :D

  • @yaderzkaya well it's fried, and has lots of rice... so it's not the most healthiest! But it is a good source of energy, veg and protein :-D

  • @Pierre4452 you mean paella is a spainish rice cooked with seafood and vege stuff in a hot pan

  • if you google image search special fried ric eit comes up with some stunning photos :)

  • How about how to make prawn crackers to go along with the special fried rice :)

  • can you do a spanish paella.... i really like it

  • @zoeyyyyh yup, that's definitely on our list! In the meantime, check out our Jambalaya, which is similar!

  • @zoeyyyyh What is that mate?

  • I dunno if its just round where I live but we use salt as the main seasoning, the soy sauce is to add colour and make it golden coloured

  • the way u cook it looks kind of weird abit . haha :D but its okay .

  • Just made this for my lunch, but I kind of messed it up a bit! I used sticky Thai rice, and didn't use eggs, so it turned into this thick gloopy ricey thing. But it was bloody delicious!

  • Hm... how is it that you cook your rice? I only ask because you say "drained" cooked rice. Whenever I make rice, I just do a 2:1 ratio of water to rice, and simmer it for 20 minutes, so all the water is absorbed... no draining involved there. =\

  • You are going to save me when I go off to college! Whats even better, I could load it up with veggies and skip the egg if I wanted to. Obviously it wouldn't be so fried ricey but still just as good. I was wondering if I could make this with just eggwhties because I am not a huge fan of the yokes? If not I can skip the egg like I said.

  • why is it yellow, i want that color, but i dont get how it gets that color!?!

  • @sortedfood how many does this serve?

  • @TheEllarooroo This serves 2 :-D

  • love yalls videos, so fun to watch! :)

  • everytime I watch one of sorted food videos, I always get hungry..

  • that's a very non asian way to cook fried rice, but it looks so good. omnomnomnom

  • Does using stir-fry oil make a huge difference? and I accidentally used parboiled rice instead, so it didn't come out as 'fried rice-y' as I expected. (I'm still a noob at this D: ) Guess I'll try again :)

  • @IMysha Practice makes perfect, so don't worry about it! Just use whatever you can get your hands on! :-D

  • bacon. BACONBACONBACON.

  • in singapore we called it fly rice XD

  • fried rice would taste better (crispy) if you use left-over rice

  • My Mum throws in the raw eggs into the rice when she's heating them up so the egg kinda cooks while the rice is heated giving it some additional flavour...

  • WANT

  • Wait i'm confused.. So do we use drained cooked rice? or just drained uncooked rice? I got a little of a mix up there..

  • @whoajulie cooked :-D

  • my little seven year old sister (her name is Libby) wan't Barry to reply to this comment and say "HI"!!!!

  • @Maddied96 Hey Libby :-D

  • Comment removed

  • do you have to put in the prawns?

  • @Maddied96 nope, make the recipe your own!

  • ..... im chinese n i found this rather amusing to watch LOL

  • do u guys even know what special fried rice is?

  • Why can't we heating rice???

  • Can I use leftover chickhen??

  • that looks so freakin good!!

  • can you make french toast

  • I'm definitely making this over Christmas break :) I love fried rice! Thanks guys!

  • Wasn't this the video your saucepan caught fire?

  • When would I add beef or chicken if I were to add them?

  • could you do something delicious for cooking with a food steamer please?

  • It is best to use rice that has been cooked and chilled in the fridge over night. The rice will be even drier and fried rice will not stick together.

  • i like

  • Another brilliant thing for the people who feel like they are missing out on the wok experience, flat bottomed woks. I got one when I went to uni and I have never looked back :)

  • There's a problem with reheating rice? I've never heard of that before...I'm Chinese and we reheat our rice all the time. BTW love the recipe, I always love seeing other people's renditions of such a classic recipe

  • maybe its just the way i cook, but i never use soy sauce and very rarely use sesame oil... is it just me?

  • usually we just whisk the eggs up and throw them in with the rice, it saves time to cook the egg alone, and then cut it up.

  • looks wonderful will try this, this week.

  • In Hawaii we really like to use spam (some say gross, I say delicious, its also really good in saimin/ramen!) or Portuguese sausage in fried rice. and pretty much any leftovers you have.

  • do something with SHANE DAWSON!!! :) xxx love ur food btw xxx

  • Jamie reminds me of Ron Weasley. :)

  • i've never seen rice being cooked that way and you're actually supposed to add the rice and egg in the wok/pan/pot thing at the same time(egg is beaten first not cooked yet) then add everything else..............just sayin...............

  • I'm definitely going to try this :)

  • This is a silly question, but I love cooking with garlic, i love the flavour, but i find even if i touch it for a few seconds the smell will linger for almost a day! Any tips on how to get rid of the smell quickly? Also, you guys have a fantastic business going on :)

  • My favourite line : Ben : It will be hawt hat hhatt

  • SORTED fried rice! yeah!

  • jammie is so funny

  • your accents...they make me happy.... >w<

  • How is it that all your recipes are f-ing delicious?!?! Every one I make, I have a new trip into ecstasy with every bite!

  • @DeathAngelsFury We're just here to prove that cooking doesn't have to be difficult! Great tasting food without all the fuss! Do you have a favourite yet?

  • @sortedfood So far, it's the pasta carbonara. But I'm trying new ones all the time, so it could change at any moment.

  • @sortedfood favourite?! are you serious?! i cant stop watching your videos, i think i have fallen in love, and you guys aint to bad either :P ;) xoxo

  • @sortedfood let me tell you how i make cake in a cup every day, i love your resipies because i dont need to go shoping for rediculous things. its stuff thats already in my kitchen!

  • @XXEMOsxrxhottXX My god that comment was an assault on my eyes :/

  • @halogen123 why?

  • @sortedfood I love this recipe i often make it with leftover pork stir fry I made the night before.... all i have to do is add eggs.

  • Special fried rice? Not the one I'm thinking of.

  • it would taste better if you added lots of pepper, because that's probably the main ingredient that gives fried rice its distinctive taste!! :)

  • it would taste better if you put the egg directly into the stirring pot of rice. instead of frying it first. the texture is way better. like WAY better

  • I LOVE JAMIE :D

  • fried rice is really simple. i typically just use leftover rice, leftover meat or chinese sausage, and frozen vegetables and stir it all up. for flavour i use ketchup (yes i know weird but really good) and sirachi sauce and again mixing it well.

  • do you have to add mushrooms?

  • I lol'd sooo hard when Ben said HOT HOT HOT! xD

  • I am a pescavegetarian, so would I be able to substitute the meat for fish or tofu, par chance?

  • Shouldn't you guys use more of a wok type pan apposed to a pot?

  • @Gschmidt247 If you have one and you are using gas then yes! But on the flat induction cooker we had this pan provided more surface area and so got hotter! :D

  • @sortedfood Sorry I posted that coment before I saw that segment of the video. Thank you for replying so quickly you guys you guys are ace!

  • I dont know how to bloody dont like prawns...but people have different tastes so im not fucking around...looks fuckin delicious

  • I'm considering going to make this right now, im so hungry and this looks so fricken nice!

  • "what a delight" (:

  • Hey sorted! Could you maybe do mooncakes for the Chinese mid autumn festival??

  • Hey Sortedfood Guys! Only just discovered your channel through the Mystery Guitar Man episode and I must say you are amazing! I love that you are making easy delicious food with real sized person portions, not like on some cooking shows where you basically eat a stick of celery.. KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK!

  • @oB19o That would make a great t-shirt... wait...

  • hi!! can you guys make a quick and easy snack (preferably not sweet) for us students to make when we come back from school hungry? :) thanks!!!!

  • When my family (who is a legit LEGIT Chinese family) cooks this, we do it the traditional Chinese way, the way my grandma did it in China. We just put whatever at all we have in our fridge, leftovers and the sort.

  • I live in America and we don't use grams, so how many cups would i use to substitute the 100g white rice? thanks :)

  • wat brand of soy sauce do u use?

  • @628ChopperXX AMOY

  • @sortedfood cool coz thts wat brand we use in hong kong and most families in hk use this brand!

  • can we make it with chicken instead of bacon?

  • @desertrose88 yep... slightly swap them over!

  • bacon strips bacon strips bacon strips bacon strips bacon strips bacon strips

  • WOW! Now, I know how to make it the right way, without it being all mushy. THANK YOU! :)

  • dont use a metal pan - the rice is gonna get burned and stuck on that pan!

  • all five words in the title have 'E'.

All FIVE WORDS IN THE TITLE HAVE 'I' (i.lied.)

  • Can i swap the prawns for shredded chicken?

  • @MrBaacow yeah easy peasy! Just leave 'em out! :D

  • when I make fried rice I for some reason add WAY too much soy sauce because I always think oh that's not the colour it's supposed to be so it ends up tasting horrid

  • Oh God, I've fallen in love with Jamie.

  • @sortedfood

bibimbap is a traditional korean dish where you put loads of vegetable, some meat, and a chili paste to mix it all together!

usually its made with thinly sliced cucumbers and carrots, boiled bean sprouts, sesame seed, a little bit of sesame oil, some meat (usually beef) rice and an circle of egg to cover it. then you just mix it with the chili paste which is usually called gochu or 곷추

its actually quite a simple dish and tastes delicious! :)

  • @sillyweeny Mmm. I love bibimbap! Makes me want some and it's way too late at night for that. Maybe tomorrow...

  • @TheSimonesie You'll be glad to hear they will be available soon! Along with one or two other SORTED bits and pieces! Hang on in there! :D

  • lets rob an asian kitchen or stroll down the block... either way girl we're taking a walk (wok)

  • You know, it is pretty hard just sitting here at my computer, adding every sorted video in the suggestions column to my playlist. They are awesome videos, and is going to take awhile watching every single one........ *sigh*

  • I can't believe I only just saw this video now. I'm subscribed to you guys, but it musn't have come up in my feed. Anyway, thanks for making it :D

  • They copied this from specialfriedrice dott net

  • I can't say this one is bad but it's westernized. Chinese don't think it's fried rice coz there isn't any fire.

  • I love watching you guys, regardless if I actually end up making the dish, but I find that for a lot of your non-dessert dishes I'm having to substitute a lot of things so I can eat it. One day you guys should make a kosher recipe. =)

I'm sure all of us kosher eating folk would appreciate it ;)

  • Can you make a dried fruit bar?

  • YES OMG BIBIMBAP FTW!!!

  • @elmoloveswasabi lol... no idea what BIBIMBAP is?????

  • @sortedfood youtube won't let me link you to the recipe. it's a really simple recipe - google it. It would be great if u guys could do like a europeanised version of it with a twist :D

  • @sortedfood korean food!

  • @sortedfood its a korean rice dish

  • @sortedfood you must try bibimbap! It's a Korean mixed rice dish. It's spicy and has so many flavors :) I'm a college student and I've made it before. Tastes sooo good =)

  • @sortedfood it's a traditional korean dish. it literally means "mixed meal" in korean. it's white rice topped with veggies, kimchi, eggs, chili pepper paste, etc. it's delicious :)

  • @sortedfood it's a Korean dish which is rice mixed with a variety of ingredients and mixed with a Korean hot sauce.. :)

  • @sortedfood bibimbap is fried rice in korean :)

  • @sortedfood bibimbap is a kind of korean fried rice which is served in a sizzling hot stone pot! maybe you guys should make some korean food tooo!

  • @sortedfood Oh god I love bibimbap. It's basically a Korean rice bowl with sautéed vegetables, sliced beef, chili sauce, and sometimes egg. Maybe you guys could make it! It's great during cold winters. =)

  • @sortedfood korean dish, google it ^^

  • @sortedfood its a korean rice dish! so delicous! my fav :)

  • @sortedfood omg yes do bibimbap! it's korean :D

  • @sortedfood It's a korean dish consisting of marinated beef slices, carrots, bean sprouts, mushrooms , spicy red bean paste, rice and fried egg on top. Hope this helps! :)

  • @elmoloveswasabi KOREANS UNITE

  • wheres the MSG ? lol

  • @kiwiterran1 haha... left out for obvious reasons! :D

  • Can you make an indian dish???

  • This is so sexy. Three men.. cooking. :D

  • they don't tend to use salt in china? hmm....being chinese, i wouldn't quite agree with you there...

  • If you use frozen peas do they have to be defrosted and instead of serving immediatly can you keep it in a fridge?

  • bibimbap please!

  • haha xD

"take me mushrooms! i don't need them anymore. they're just useless to me"

  • this looks better than what we have in Japan =D

  • You're supposed to use leftover rice (from a previous day) for fried rice, or else the water content is too high and it doesn't absorb the flavours. Just saying.

  • i wonder how profiteroles are made.. *wink wink*

  • I wouldnt trust this channel if they weren't British XD Oh, human mind, how DO you work?

  • this so FAKE. worst fried rice recipe ever

  • @ShockValue721 OK Ken Bloody Hom, you show us how 'real' it can be. .....

  • @digireedoo im pretty sure no asian country's authentic fried rice has american bacon in it. its traditionally roast pork

  • @ShockValue721 I don't think the intention is to be slavish over the ingredients. A bit of smoked bacon is an interesting twist, plus it is more likely to be in the fridge than cooked roast pork. As the Sorted guys say, chop and change the ingredients to suit your own taste - I for one wouldn't have prawns in it!

  • @ShockValue721 not really. it pretty nearly matches my own. what exactly makes it the "worst fried rice recipe ever?"

  • im far from a culinary genius, just wondering why you shouldnt re-heat rice??

  • @lNameInLightsl If you cook and store the rice carefully then there is nothing to be worried about. But Bacillus cereus is a very bad food-poisoning bacteria commonly associated with rice and the poor prearation of it. If it's left at room temperature for too long, spores can form which are not eradictaed when reheated. But this is only in extreme cases! This dish however, is amazing! Just make sure you keep leftover rice in a fridge. :D

  • im hungry

  • Special fried rice =__=

  • this is featured on the homepage :D

  • I would rather cook one egg directly with the rice so the egg can stick to rice and fry the other egg separately, sunny side up with the egg yolk half done. After you mix the rice and the other ingredients together, you add the fried egg on top of the fried rice. When eating the dish, you punch out the yolk so that it'll cover the rice and it'll taste better.

  • @Vza004 I love it that way too!

  • fake none-Chinese version of special fried rice tbh..

  • I love Jamie! :D

  • Haaaang on, you said not to use salt in chinese cooking but you put some in the egg earlier o_o

  • jamie is hilarious

how did you make the rice?

  • @lx3100 Easiest way > Rice cooker.

  • i shall try this soon! if not tonight, tomoz! cheers!

  • wait a minute.... this isn't a wart infested penis

  • can you do a video on a whole mexican meal like starter, main, desert and sides? :)

  • Looks so good!!

  • nice recipe!! wanna learn more recipes checkout my blog. cookiewilson.blogspot.com

  • Isn't special fried rice the consequence of an STD?
