I have this same problem with my 2005 TJ (2.4L engine). It seems like this problem is more common than I thought it was. Did you ever figure out what was making the sound? Thanks.
Dude I got the same problem. Mine sounds like that, and I removed all the belts. I'm having trouble posting the video in the right format, but I'll add it on a day or so. I was thinking it was something like the starter, because it only does it when starting. The flywheel would make a constant vibration, or noise.
That chirping sound is your starter, i have a 2003 4.0L TJ and it used to make the exact same sound. basically the gear in the started which extends to mesh with the flywheel when the ignition is turned is staying in contact with your flywheel once the jeep starts, instead of retracting once you let of the ignition. i found that hitting the starter with a hammer did not work.. so it will probably need a new starter.
i have the same problem with my car, but once i drive around with it and get it warm it wont it wont make the sound until i let it cool off
