Fix home button on ipod touch 100%

Everyone that is call this fail stfu. Yes it does take the pic of the screen but it also fixes the button, I have a 4 th gen iPod and I would have to press the home button several times to exit an app or open the iPod. After I tried this, it instantly became new again. Thanks

Try holding down the power button in an 'apple' app like photos,safari etc and when the 'slide to power off' pops up, hold the homebutton untill the slide to power off fades away.

This fix DOES work, I had trouble at first but when you push the power button hold it down and THEN press the home button. I never thought this would work and after a couple tries figured I was right but then I held the power done and...poof...problem fixed!!! Greaat work for a first time video rabydmoose! Thank you!

The cause of this is the ram getting to cluttered it's a bitch if you tethered jail broken on 4.3.5 cause everything you reboot it doubles over your ram so restore and upgrade to 5.0.1 and do the untethered. Also you get more cool shit from cydia like Siri on iPods

I was digging through the methods of getting the "home" button to work. I found this video - In my case, this option didn't work. :-( Since my screen was already lifted as I was installing a new one. I powered off the iPod touch. I lightly sprayed the home button internals with some Caig's De-Oxit. I let it dry for 15 mins. I then put some of the 3M tape under the home ribbon cable as it lifts up slightly from the metal back. This is the method that fixed my home button issue.

The only reason this has worked for some of you is simple. Its cause the repeated fucking around with the button has freed the what ever the hell stuck under the button. This is also damaging cause it grinds what ever the hell it is against the pad and board.

Since people have been messaging me thanking me I will once again tell you ALL that this does not work. Blowing in the data port does. You could also remove the screen and use some compressed air. This is only happening because something is getting caught under the button. Could be a spec of dust or lint from it being in your pocket. In fact since I see this has been an issue I have offered to repair a few iPods and I seen some with tobacco stuck under the damn button.

This will work guys, if your confused when he does the flash thing he's just taking a screen shot. If for some reason this doesn't work try going to settings, scroll down to general, and then all the way down to accessibility and once your in that scroll down to assistive touch and turn it on. A little white circle icon should appear somewhere on the screen. Its just a substitute home button. Hope that helped :)

So i figured out why my home button stopped working. I have a screen protector, but the home button is uncovered. So i realized that it stopped working because it was dirty. I think this would have worked if I had tried it first, but I tried the other guy's idea first and I think I smoked my Home button in the process of doing his fast button pushing thing. So I went from having a firmware issue to having a hardware issue.
