Our fishing in Alberta is good in spots but a lot of driving required. I miss living in British Columbia fishing was great. Would have loved to see that 12 pounder! Tiny flies, no need here. Mostly wooly buggers. I rarely have time in any case. Same as hunting, my farm deer spooked out it seems poachers we think. So much work & no play makes me a dull boy. As a kid we used a willow pole & light line 25 lb dad always scolded us for not using 50 lb #4 hook ehe. Trout size 1 lb ehe :).
