@BashfulBaybee balance and composure is far off from hardcore, post hardcore or anything, yah they get heavy but never hardcore heavy, they only seem kind aheavy due to his voice but hes just got the 90's grunge vocals that made bands like nirvana work because hes got a voice that has a intensity to it thats never so heavy that hes screaming but never to soft that hes clean
they really can just be called progressive rock, emo isnt a genre like how screamo and indie is not a genre.

In my opinion, emo/screamo were bands who evolved from hardcore punk like Rites of Spring, Cap'n Jazz, Sunny Day Real Estate, pg.99, etc. But in the end it doesn't really matter because not all bands sound the same.
