It is the shark the star was built for the 1980 invasion tour he used the shark on you really got me on fire runnin with the devil and the rythm part of jamies cryin it was darker sounding unti he took the chunk out behind the tailpiece it ruined the tone and made it sound weak and strat like thst piece brought a lot of tone and resonance to it
I saw this tour at Cape Cod collsium. They opened up for the original Black Sabbath. It was Black Sabbaths last tour before Ozzy left. It was the "Never say die" tour.
Was this the time they opened for Black Sabbath? I saw them a yr later in 1980 at the Spectrum, the women and children first tour. This looks like they're opening. Could have my dates and memory foggy, long time and many drugs ago.
Why can't they play like this anymore? The reunion show was GREAT (I was totally baked), but they didn't do the improv stuff. Here's to some on the next tour!!!
Dude, is it me or is this video in a different tuning? Sounds lower than Eb, for any guitar players out there. I'm jamming with it now, I'm tuned down a half step, it low!!!
I have the full audio of this entire show in decent quality, and it is in Ed's regular half-step down (Eb) tuning. the reason its sounds different here is probably from issues during the process of making the digital file of this video
Just got back from the Greensboro show 2nd row on Sat night. Wolf was right on playing the blue and white Frankenbass. The vocals were just as good as mike's (that's gonna hurt some fans) and Dave actually sang - he didn't talk /sing or BS in the middle of tunes - they actually stuck to the albums. Ed busted out Atomic Punk with falnger stuff. Wish he didn't play the Wolfies but more old-skool Charvies. Great show!
Yeah, you're right. I saw it after I posted this, but only few people know about that. Doesn't matter, they don't care much for Holland anymore so it seems.

its the Star...he used it quite a bit on this tour...which was the VH II tour....
LypsLynch55 2 years ago
@LypsLynch55 Nope. Looks like he's using the Shark guitar. It's a Destroyer. Didn't know that axe had a whammy bar on it. The Star guitar was white.
TheHockeyCentral 9 months ago
he's using the guitar from the back cover of women and children first guys. The destroyer with the chunk out.

is eddie using the charvel star or the shark?
dogtownskater777 2 years ago
Don't know if it's a Charvel Star, but it surely isn't the Shark. You can tell it because of the headstock, which is the hockey stick for the Shark.
saulocpp 2 years ago
yeah, its probably the star, because ed didnt have any kind of guitar in that style or shape.
dogtownskater777 2 years ago
It's the dragon guitar.
