@12wedster oh hey, I noticed it was on a different video where I had explained it a few times.. it's easy so I'll just go ahead and quickly tell yaz again :{) ok, I believe you must be in video mode, or scn mode. Hit the Function button in the middle of the scroll wheel, and you'll be able to scroll to a icon that looks like a building. That's it. You can set it for 5X, 10X, or 20X and change the focus box higher or lower.. even portrait mode.
@12wedster My mistake! That way is for the Canon SX130IS! not the 150! The SX150IS has a NEW way to do it! And it is more complicated it seems... I still have to figure it out!
Hey man thanks for the sub! great video I just recently soled my sx10is camera and got a cannoneos rebel T3 seems to be a nice camera! How do you go about shooting tilt shift? any info would be great!
This is amazing!!! Nice job :) You are very talented, sir! X Revolution would love to interview you sometime! Send us an email at contactxtv@gmail.com
@xrevolutionorg Ah what the hell?! This message just appeared *5 months late*!! It flagged as spam probably just cause you had the email address in there. I clicked to view it anyway and I know very well this is not spam! Thank you for the kudos. It would have been interesting if that past interview had happened.. funny how opportunities are always changing.
@geogodley It's blurred on purpose. That's how the "miniature" effect is achieved. Just google some tutorials on how to apply this effect to a regular video shot and you'll find out that blurring parts of the frame are part of the process.
i wonder if it did take a long time to upload since the file size must be huge, isn't it? i saw under one video of 56 secs that the file size was 156MB - this takes SO long to upload! ):
@eilovemakeup Only a few minutes. The setting says x10 speed so it winds up being 1 second for every 10... (6 seconds of mini mode takes a minute to record)
100 odd megabytes doesn't, or shouldn't take that long really.. I was shocked when I learned this cam takes 4 gigs per 10 minutes recording in HD... but now that appears not to be true. I'm not sure how much space it takes cause the batteries go dead... The longest I've recorded mini mode, so far, has been 8 minutes.
That's way cool, Ray. Way way cool. I just got a new Canon S95 with miniature mode, but I haven't done much with it yet. Now I am dying to try it out. Of course I still need a computer that can handle rendering and displaying 720HD. Dang it, it's always somethin'.
@EnponAlbeno isn't it? My something is keeping the highest level MOV quality.. editing in Windows 7.. I found "VideoPad" works alright. But it's always something! Have fun.
@EnponAlbeno Yeah, for Christmas I treated myself to a new graphic card as well. Next wall I'm going to hit is storage space! Time for a hot terrabyte!
hey i've got a question. can you focus while filming? like focus on smth then focus out? manual focus? haha idk the proper term of doing that but .... you know what i mean right? o.o
@TowelBowels Not while in this creative mode.. But yes, I believe the focus and zoom both work while filming.. well the focus is auto, but if you zoom it refocuses.
@12blin Hi 12blin! Yeah... I'M planning on it.. I was thinking about asking some of the more experienced partners, if it would be a good idea to open a whole new channel, dedicated to it, or just keep posting normally? Thinking if it's cool enough I could build a partner channel, or at least monetize a few. :)
@eluko79 Yep! In the works. I have a mini tripod that might work better then balancing on the edge of a parking ramp, heh. Thanks for the complement. I wonder how this mode would work with your kind of drive videos.. hmmm.
@rayofminneapolis Whoops. Typed that one comment twice down there. heh. Anyways I found an effect in Sony Vegas that lets you tilt shift the focus. I'm thinking of doing one for SimCity.
@Barklord Every day. But I have 2 chargers that hold 4 bats each. So 8 charged batteries on hand, at all times, isn't much a challenge. It's content management.. I'm sure I'll have to get serious with a 2 terrabyte drive in 2011.
@paulinobrener The secret is that we are all Fricken AWESOME in our own ways. Respect and gratitude win capacity for appreciative enjoyment of life. That is my secret/ I have no secrets.
@rayofminneapolis er... mmm... sure... i was thinking more of the technical aspect of the video (a.k.a. "secret") but.. er... dude.. thanks for the life lesson! LOL! :-)
@Blargaldalien Yeah, I've got to figure that out... I don't want to be ineligible for monetization, should any of these gain attention. I'd love soundtracking with good popular music, but that disqualifies one. maybe I can ask Ardy Verdy to do cover songs? hehs.
wow! thats really good! how did you make the people go really fast (weird question)

@geogodley The top and bottom is supposed to be blurred for this effect. It actually takes very sharp good HD video at 720.

@rayofminneapolis Remember those toy race tracks with the rails? Probably something like that If I hooked a camera up to one of them.
As for my videos though, maybe there's a detachable tilt focus lens out there I could fix to my camera. I'll definitely look into this.
