HATE his habit of calling wifey "Frau Boyle," like she has no other existence other than his wife. Besides, TC has a doctorate, so she would be Frau Doktor Boyle. And I'm sure he's never written while stoned. Like Donald Sutherland's character in Animal House, Boyle says "it's my job!" So Bill . . . what do you think?

Although he doesn't often write for the New Yorker--that's the reason why I subscribe. His work is brilliant, hilarious, tear jerking at times and a thorough pleasure to read. What a gifted, gifted writer -- and what an insightful man.
