Most excellent amigo! We used to crank this to 11, drunk on underage beer in the actual day (1980), and you do high Justice to a GREAT instrumental! I for one, welcome our finger talkin' overlords! Brilliant!!!
Fabulous job! Just hearing that makes me want to see Rik Emmett again on one of his solo gigs. I trust someone as talented as you truly know how great a player Rik is?
I am definitely not playing with a backing track. I just sewed two takes together because purely I liked the feel of the 2nd take ending so much better.
LOL Wow. I love it when I watch a piece on here that makes me smile and that one sure did the trick. Absolutely fantastic! Nice view of the fretboard there as well, thank you.
I figured out my first Rik Emmet solo piece (Fantasy Serenade) 30 years ago when I was 15 and then moved on to Clap by Steve Howe. I tried this one but alas it was beyond my abilities. You are an incredible guitarist! Awesome job!!
@Tacomadome24 Yeah, - go figure! This was when I was 16 and it took me a while to get down clap but for some reason I couldn't get my head (or fingers) around certain parts of this one. I've improved quite a bit since then so I think I should give it a try again. But of course there's a big difference between playing a difficult piece and figuring it out by ear. At least I don't have to do it by tape anymore. I'm going to be uploading my own vids of my favorite solo pieces soon including Clap.
@TheBdriver This is true. It did take me a little while. I figured it out in parts and then put them together over time. I'll be uploading my version along with other Steve Howe, RIk Emmet and other classical works soon. Hope you see them.
Yes, a Ramirez...that's correct: it mikes way better than my previous Aria Pro classical--couldn't believe the difference. (The original Fingertalkin was probably played on big semi-acoustic, steel-string, jazz guitar.)

That was awesome. If you close your eyes and just listen, it sounds just like Rik Emmett himself were playing this.
