@BuIIfr0g that's fine, if anyone is searching 'beachy head' and 'suicide' on youtube then i'm more than happy that they take offence to my 'horrible' commentary and it distracts them from what they were searching for in the first place...
I don't know about the English younger generation today, but melancholy was found in many English people back in Victoria times.people with a melancholy nature are very sensitive people that need to be treated with kid gloves.they tend to seek and enjoy solitude, and don't take part in social activities.
You'd probably have a heart attack before you hit the rocks - or if you were a loser in death, as in life you/d get stuck on a ledge with a broken leg!
I thought you were going to ride your silly bike over the edge, the average IQ of Sussex, no the entire country would have doubled as a result. The world needs fewer smug individuals like you frankly. Used to like Eddie I, but he's had his day really.
@candypink40 I symathise greatly for you, and agree that how anyone can joke about suicide is incredibly cruel, and proves they have no idea about severe depressive illness.
Did you manage to save any soul? :o) Around here there's also a big, very peaceful lake right next to a damn. A nice, rocky, open place with few trees, lots of birds and squirrels. When you stand on the cliff and look around, it's just like you're at a nice pebble beach looking out to the deep blue sea, except you can see the other end of the sea in the far distant with small islands in between. But because people keep coming there to suicide, they closed the place.
The irony was when you simply said ''well my life is good'' and we're talking about others lives sucking. But as a whole, I agree, suicide is at least even a mere thought that runs through everyones minds, but should never be enacted because there's always light at the end no matter how bleak the situation. Though you'd think eventually the UK would put a fence along there to prevent or hender such things from happening
@toyoracing89 this is true i don't understand it either, a friend of our family fell off a cliff close by in front of his kids whilst flying a kite, horrible but no they don't fence them off, countless amounts of dogs die every year also along the south coast cliffs
@danmoto73 That's just disturbing really. But sometimes people don't really see the silver lining in every situation as others do, and for a lot of people suicide is the easiest answer to the inevidable question of ''is my life really worth jacksh1t to anyone or anything?''
hey dude. i know your talking about something really heavy on the mind... but i was just curious how come on the road some of the lines are straight, some of them are crooked? thanks patt
Hey Dan! Another interesting video. Weird question but is suicide legal where you are at? I doubt it is, but here in the US if you try to commit suicide they lock you up which is kinda funny. Well they put you under watch for like 72 hours and see if you are stable. Then let you go free to try again.
@danmoto73 Come on Dan...it's bad enough that I'm stuck here in Japan...with no freakin Eastenders..but you had to go and mention popping down to the chippy!:-)
No seriously great vid! Is that near where you live? Here in Japan, before they jump, they take their shoes off to exit the world...and so later too, people know someone jumped.
A different Topic, handled pretty well i would say! I have experienced suicide in my family, and its a decision we all have open to us when the weight becomes too much to bare and the future seams so bleak! I would say suicides could be literally halved if we all took 2 mins out to know our neighbors - the west is a cynical place and we forget that people, friendship and family are what we're here for, not greed, fame and all the 20th Century crap
@jimmythesaint1977swl really well said :) i've lost a couple of friends to suicide so know very well its not a nice thing :( sometimes you just have to talk about these kind of taboo subjects though, i agree whole heartidly with the things you mention in your comment
Seems like this person is more than a bit suicidal in the way he drives his bike into oncoming traffic, it is the ultimate in irnonical/mornonic vids:)
nice video! there was this film on the other day from 1970's/80's and this guy quit his job , put his lambretta under a post van, and lost his girlfriend, and i THINK he went to beachy head to commit suicide on someone else lambretta that he stole.... am i right people, can anyone tell me? :D
It can be called anything you like, but it is still driving very close into oncoming traffic on an unprotected vehicle, and I think it is funny hearing someone preach about how terrible it is to want to kill yourself while doing it:)
No, so that may be why to me it looks suicidal:) However, there are quite aq few statistics out there that support motorcycling in and of itself is a dangerous pastime. I do not think that is a reason to stop doing it however, since it is only a danger to the rider usually. ( And a lot of the time, it is not the rider's fault that s/he ends up dead or injured). Have fun - that is what life is about:)
Yes, it might well be the best the most efficient way to end their lives, statistically speaking: why should life be about preservation, it should be about having fun and taking reckless chances, like getting on a bike and driving into oncoming traffic:) Jumping off a cliff is also fun, it just brings death a bit sooner:)
he does loads of lovely sketches with little lego men. including the beachy head one. look for the darth vader eddie izzard one (on YT). it is HILARIOUS!
Can you imagine though, getting ready to jump and some twat spoiling your last moments on earth whinging on at you, holding a clipboard and wearing a nice charitable smile, chuffed with him/herself that your despair peaked during their 2 hour shift on a wednesday teatime... f###ing busybodies!
It would almost be the equivalent of someone stopping a cyclist driving into oncoming traffic - how dare they stop all the fun:) Life is about fun, and jumping is fun - even if it takes less time - usually - than driving into oncoming traffic on a bike....
Riding in the wet again? I wish I could but my s****y chinese nylon tyres suck, so i dont want to risk it. Should be getting some Contininental SuperSport Street (SuperMoto) Tyres.
As always great vid. 5***** Love to see some more Offroading vids. =)
I won't kill myself... thanks Dan! It's crazy that that area is so popular for people to jump that they actually have people patrol the edge. That sounds really similar to a forest at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. I've heard that when you start walking into the forest there are even signs hanging saying things like "think about your family" and "please reconsider".
That would be like putting signs on all motorcyce shields that read - "think about your family before driving into oncoming traffic":)There is probably an after life that is much more fun than this one, and where we will see our family again, FOR ETERNITY- -I would prefer to jump ,since it is #1:fun,, and #2: fail -safe , as opposed to riding into oncoming traffic, which, though fun, is NOT fail safe. My last choice would be going into the Fuji forest , which is neither fun nor fail safe.
Interesting. Life is a lot more downs than ups usually and its interesting to see that you have a sort of dedicated spot where people often find their end.
On the brighter side of your vlog, i could so go for some fish & chips now! I only had them when i was in Massachusetts and havent had them since or before.
Awesome looking place, i would love to walk out too the edge. Wouldn't contemplate jumping though, there are too many big things i wanna see before i die ;D.
Well done! Beautiful area, it's sad about the suicides. Your comments were very thoughtful..good thing the chaplains are there. Scary ending riding in the middle of the road : )
LOL "ultimate base jump". Not funny topic, but life is miserable enough without some comedy. :) Well done.
Well... I also have a Suicide Spot nearby... a bridge.
People tend for the dramatic and jump off bridges and cliffs. Most of them are unlucky enough to have a second chance at life on a wheelchair, at best.
i think people commit suicide 'cause they're too weak to deal with all the stress they have, or the stress that they don't have and try to force upon themselves. anyways... suicide is a stupid way out.
You are sooo right - the strong get on a bike and ride it into oncoming cars as a way to deal with any stres they may have. Those little worms that leap, they really are the stupidest!!!
Killing yourself by jumping off a cliff would be brutal. What if you changed your mind 1/2 way down? It's not like you can turn around and go back up. You'd have to look for a soft spot to land and hope you bounce.
