  • So want to go on this

  • This system has being designed to be used instead of using stairs or elevators... UUhhhh

  • this is an awesome video

  • This woulda help on September 11th, where ppl were jumping from top floors without help. it was either burn or jump.

  • Technology like that is okay for the handicapped but the non handicapped. They can just walk down the stairways to get out of the building. Where I work the fire department has to help the handicapped out in the event of a real fire. And when we had the HVAC fire our 3 handicapped employees just stayed in the building out of the area the fire was in. The rest of us had to walk down the stairways to get out. And some of us mistakenly ran into the elevator.

  • why ride when you can jump?

  • Too slow, man

  • Why only help the very top floors?

  • @swakeri cause the ppl on the top floors are always the last to leave.....my high rise apartment caught on fire in the basement....I lived on 23rd.....took me 45 mins to get down...cause every time my floor made it to a lower level the door flew open and 30ppl came running out and down the stairs..and so many people say push them...push them where??? the whole damn building is n a staircase the size of a closet packed from lobby to top floor.

  • thats fuckin awesome!

  • WTF why does the lady have a kid? Bring your child to work day?

If only these were in the WTC. Seriously, they could have gotten out more people. Btw, RIP 9/11 victims. Never forgotten.

  • fuckin jews

  • that's a real evacuation!!!...i like this things

  • i want to go in one of they things lol

  • The bigger problem with that type of setup is that only so many can fit it those things before they get too full.

  • WELL ARNT U A CLEVER ONE!!! twat.

  • And another flaw i saw, there is only a certain number of containers, up to 5. That's fine for 5-8 floors, but what if there's 20? The fire could be in the middle of the building, and they would be waiting forever for the units to get to their floor. To manage the weight, there should be smaller pods, but 2 on the same side. Just a flaw i saw ;)

  • that's awfully slow..

you could be going down the stairs faster...

  • and if the stairs were blocked by a fire?

  • FIRE SPRINKLERSS!!!!!

  • @3halvesproductions but the stairs will be slower with all the people

  • @3halvesproductions

Mostly, this is used for the top floors so as much people can be evacuated from the building

  • they should have it on hotels because it's auto mactic because if you see the smoke it will alarm everyone

  • Don't you know that hotels are full of smokers?

  • They shoud have it in wtc,

if it still was there :(

  • Amazing, we need those in new york

  • Fire lift

  • I agree with the statements of 'slow means of escape', it's a cool concept but totally not feasible.

  • Its designed to be a last resort escape method, and one for disabled refuges... not main stream evacuations. All abled bodied people would take the stairs as usual.

  • Only in the USA

  • That's in Israel, n00b.

  • roll grandpa!!!roll for your life!!!

  • @KidFunkyFry15 your not funny

  • I wish my building has this elevator. i have to run down 20 stories to get out of danger

  • LMAO!

  • Very slow means of evacuation. I assume that this is meant only when all other routes of escape have been exshasted.

  • WOW !

  • it looks like it takes longer than taking the stairs when theres abt 200 people on 1 flor and abt 30 flors

  • I'm interested to see how much it costs to put in and maintain. If too expensive I don't see many building owners installing this clearly optional equipment. We put a price on safety, its sick but its true...

  • Slow but a very clever system.

  • It's a novel idea, however, how yould beople know that those windows are the exit unless they are marked (not shown in vid). Most building like this would have a voice evacuation system delivering the instructions, and the occupants would be directed to the stairs, unless all of this is modified around this system.

  • Amazing!! I wigh we had that in Spain!

  • well i notice that on the side of the building there is a strong metal strip behind those elevator and its hold the elevator in place so it dont shake in the wind or air.

  • they should use this at wtc that way theres another way out if the evevator is down on the top floor

  • Good system, But if the building is feeled with smoke the people will panic instantly, HUMAN NATURE.

They will not have a clue where to go, and then there will be even more panic.

Have a look at my companies video which would run along side this system brilliantly.

(A world first fire safety system) Tell me what you think

  • whats the name of the song

  • its good thinking. BUt what about the lower levels. And there is a VERY small space for people to get in there

  • waaaaaa man that was a slow system. they should make a slide come out of nowhere and attach to the windows.

  • jewish system never work !

  • Hmmm...Since all the excruciating wait times were cut short, it's hard to judge how much time this system actually takes.

  • If those are supposed to be used on high rises, it would have to be 100% absolutely strong. There are fast winds up there and it would be hell to be in one of those with it leanin' wit it and rockin' wit it.

  • it'll never work, too slow reaction

  • That would have been nice 5 years ago.

  • *sigh* This is just a demostration of a new fire safety product. they're just showing how it could be used in high rise senarios. It's a good idea and if you didn't notice the fabric, it's the same type that people use to get close to lava from erupting volcanoes. It's very fire retardant.

  • i bet it would burn

  • what about the other 25 rows of windows on that side does it move over

  • I Doubt THat Would Actually Work..I Agree, People would Be Fighting to Get In One Of Thoes.

  • yeah... only 5 boxes.. i'd say its a death trap

  • whats wrong with fire stairs?

  • i work in a high rise and i can just see the fights to escape... and what if the fire is on the same side as this elevator? does the building owner have to install one on each side of the building so they can evacuate on the non-fire side? well, at least someone's concerned about life safety

  • haha, thats pretty tight. I like the wheelchair touch, lol. pretty tight

  • death trap

  • so if the building is more than 5 stories tall everyone else is screwed or what?

  • thats still pretty fappin cool

  • 2 mins 22 secs is a long time to wait in a building that is actually burning. In this video, no debris is falling, and the system, which looks like it has more moving parts than most cars, luckily worked perfectly. I wouldn't count on it is a real fire.
