  • This makes me cry... Sarah is so stunning... She is the best singer on the world forever...

  • she winked at him! that's so cute! I adore her! of course, i don't wanna be her, but would love to have her voice... she's can have my husky imitation :P hahahaha... oh i wish...

if she is lipsynching she's good... i just don't get why she puckers her lips like she does??? OH! because shes forming the operatic sound... you try it sometime! i sure did... and it works... no wonder people don't understand operas!

  • @blondbergers yea i seen that and was likeomg! the was so cute! lol and yea people constantly say she lipsyncs. and to be honest i'm sure some days she has to. a singers voice is not always 100% But I don't think that she would lip sync unless it was like absolutely necessary. But people are jealous of talent and they tend to throw out things like lip syncing at singers. But she is just amazing all around. she has the skills and just ah!! the best.

  • there for me, everytime I've been away, will you be there for me, thinking of me everyday, are you my destiny, words i never dared to say, will you be there for me. just think of you and me, we could never toe the line, it's such a mystery, just to hear you say you're mine, and while you're close to me, so close to me, just hold me...

  • She is lovely here. I just don't like some details but she is a great singer. I just think she should choose between pop and opera songs, it's hard singing both of them in a concert.

  • God Sarah's voice is beyond beautiful, there are no words to describe how precious she is...i could listen to her sing forever!

and she most certainly is NOT lipsynching here...its clearly different from the original...

  • This is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just want her to sing this again!!! have you noticed her voice get more good with the years!!!

  • It wasn't a debate, but nevermind.

  • wow...good old jacky really hits those notes. go jack! good job from sarah too. :)

  • i think jacky's voice is more unique than josh's. both are definitely very powerful singers. i think in asia, the male singer who deserves to sing this with sarah is jacky cheung. leehom or eason may be a choice, as their english is very good. i never see any male asian singer has stronger and better voice than jacky's.

  • Can you all stop to say bad things about others? If you don't like it then don't hear it but don't be so mean and stress other people to hear music.

  • Eew, the Josh Groban one is the worst. Groban has the worst voice out of any of the contemporary classical pop artists. Unvarying in pitch and boring. And the original version was done with JOSE CURA, dummies. I have all of Sarah Brightman's albums; the earliest one was her "Time to Say Goodbye," and it says on the cover JOSE CURA.

  • Thats right. Jose Cura its the original singer, and in my opinion, the best.

  • her earliest album isn't TTSG

  • yup yup

she lip synced the whole thing i heard jacky was really upset about it =(

  • did they both lip sync it or is it that Sarah who lip Synced it?

  • If you listen carefully.. you know what?? She didn't lip synced the WHOLE thing, for some reasons, this microphone doesn't pick up the pop voice well, you know it is impossible to capture both Operatic voice and pop voice with one microphone, techniquely it is difficult, so I guess she did the higher voice live! You could never guessed.. she actually did it live!!! The only part she didn't do it live was the begining and the end.. does anyone agree?

  • i dont think she lipsynched because she kept looking at the lyrics while singing

  • And you Vidhun99 are the queen of mean and jealousy when it comes to Sarah Brightman. You are attacking her all over YouTube. Either send me a link to one of your great arias on YouTube so I can hear how great a singer you are or shut up. The world is tired of hearing your baseless and unfounded vitriolic diatribes against the best soprano the world has ever seen and heard. And don't waste your time sending me another one of your vitriolic emails.

  • You're the the one that is overly defensive. Either put up or shut up. Just send me a link to your fan site, as well as some of your better arias.

  • Vidhun99 - I said not to send me any of your vitriolic emails ad you have done in the past. I'll immediately delete them without opening them.

  • I love this version of the song the best... somehow, I think using a pop style to sing this poppy ballad duet is the most appropriate delivery. Just want to be objective, Jacky Cheung did a good job... very natural... I don't care whether it's an Asian singing or White or Black singing... he's just good alright?

  • some of the greatest jazz and blue musicians have terrible voice...but it was perfect for the type of music they play and they are able to express the emotion of the song.

Rick Ashley, has a wonderful voice, but his emotionless performance is an absolute joke.

If you think it's easy singing like Jacky because he sings pop, then you're the idiot. And if you think there isn't someone out there with better voice than Jacky, you're an idiot too.

It's all about how the song is performed.

  • For these guys who are arguing about whether there are better vocalist than Jacky. None of you know what you're talking about.

Music is a lot more than just vocal techniques, and hitting high notes. Different genre requires different interpretation, different skills. Paul Stanley from KISS is a rocker, but performed just as well in Phantom of the Opera.

Music is about expressing emotion. Making the notes visable and making people feel it.

  • Can't believe she mimmed this performance. His part was totally live and hers wasn't. This whole concert was lyp-synched. The audio is the same as the one from the One Night in Eden concert.

  • wao, i luv both versions by jacky or jose.. both are incredible singers.. im a fan of jacky and hes the one of the best singers in the world.. i have attended his concert before and its the best one.. his live was simply amazing and his voice is simply powerful.. in this video, i believe he can sing much better.. =) go jacky! nice song!

  • first of all, she sings the original version with JOSH GROBAN, not jose cura. try to be sure of something when u're making such accusations. u're right that this version doesn't sound as well as the original one, but who are u to criticize?

  • I never said anything about the Cura version having ANYTHING to do with the original version, so try to be sure of something when u're making such accusations. All I said was the other version is better. Who are YOU to criticize when you don't read the black and white text correctly?

  • uuuu, I like it. I am the one who doesn't read the black and white text correctly because you are the one who doesn't know how to write it. All you said was that the other version is better? I think you mentioned on the way words like "crap", "massacred", "misery"...whatever, you wanna fight for this? and most important: DEFINATELY? you should DEFINITELY go back to school and learn it AGAIN jackass!

  • BTW, it's not with Josh Groban..IT IS with Jose Cura dumb ass!!!!

  • You guys are only noticing how the music covers Jacky's voice, but it's actually covering Sarah's voice more. Because her voice is so high, it's even less audible... maybe you guys didn't even hear her at all O.o...

  • AGREE~

BUT I STILL THINK THIS TIME JACKY SANG QUITE GOOD

    use the pop style:)

  • sorry... pls do not compare jacky with other singers... he is the best pop male singer in asia, one of the best in the world... obviously the music is too loud... only idoits will think he has done a bad job in this song... we can only blame people who miss the chance to appreciate such a powerful vocal... so sad...

  • "...singer with a 1 of a kind baritone voice..." if he is a baritone, i'm such a "underbass"...

his voice is more to a tenor than a baritone...

  • Jacky Cheung's voice is not baritone. It is tenor 2, or possibly 3. His vocal range is so wide that he can sing at a woman's normal range at ease.

  • Sarah and her voice beautiful as always. Nice performance but the guy's voice seems that he can't reach the notes that the song requires. The original version with José Cura is simply THE BEST!!!

  • The "guy" is the world's best selling male asian artist, Jacky Cheung. Watch him sing, he's not straining at all to reach the notes, he can hit even higher notes than that. I love this version because it's Jacky (who is a powerful pop voice) but I also love her version with Josh (who has a strong classical voice) They're great in different ways. You made me so proud Jacky. :)

  • Explain to me how she could lipsynch the part where her voice harmonizes with Jacky Cheung when it was

    1) Never studio-recorded

    2) Different from the duet with Josh Groban?

  • Well then, similarly, how can you say for sure she lipsynched this particular one, JUST for this not-so-televised event?

  • Proof or retract your statement. Just because you keep thinking it's true, completely ignore things that point otherwise as being made-up, and just keep saying it over and over, doesn't make it true.

  • Interestingly, I recall her version with José being in ITALIAN, not English. Any explanations! Oh! Oh! Maybe you should use the oh-so-overused "SHE RECORDED IT AGAIN BLAH BLAH BLAH I'LL JUST KEEP REPEATING IT UNTIL IT'S TRUE ANYTHING YOU SAY IS FALSE BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HECK ABOUT CLASSICAL MUSIC".

    Don't steal my idea.

  • And you honestly think she bothers to record a version of a song and NEVER release it, only for it to be heard on some obscure concert in a very foreign country? Just because you want it to happen doesn't mean it has, just "unreleased". Time To Say Goodbye's English/Spanish versions WERE released on a very rare single. And you, maybe, should start hitting your head against the wall WITH a reality check. Why bother attacking her so much? We all know you're going nowhere.

  • And if she comes CLEAN will she like, you know, solve global warming? The recession? Maybe your insanely overwhelming stupidity? And I have never heard of that solo version of THERE FOR ME, especially not in ENGLISH, so proof or, again, retract your statement.

  • Comment removed

  • The constant and annoying accusations about her lipsynching. Nobody cares, nobody will. You aren't proving anything. In fact, why am I even caring?

Seriously, so what if she IS lipsynching? People still enjoy her voice, studio or not, because of its innate beauty whether it has lost its skill or not.

  • @CoolMapleStore there is an english version of There for Me. if you go and type in Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban you can here it.

  • @lexitriton aren't Sarah and Jacky singing in English anyway?

  • @ScarletBandSG well yes....but what does that have to do with anything? lip syncing can be done in any language.....

  • iT'S a good video music but the video with JOsh groban is the best!!! check it out guys on josh groban

  • josh groban i OK, but Jackie is still the best. No matter classical, pop, rock, or whatever he beats them all. Jackie is the #1 Male singer with a 1 of a kind baritone voice.

  • Love this song and love both performers! Wish the music wasn't soo loud, it kind of overwhelms Jacky's voice.

  • here's a joke: someone as ignorant as you making ridiculous claims about something you have absolutely no knowledge of.

If you don't have time to explore professional asian vocalists? guess what? NOT MY FUCKING PROBLEM - and maybe you can come back and make the same comment after you've actually heard REAL asian vocalists perform and not some asian pop singer.

that's all I'm gonna say. pssst.

  • I've already stated - you obviously don't know enough about vocal music. I've already rebutted your idiotic point - so go visit an asian music school before making some ridiculous comment like "Jacky Cheung is the only one who can pull this off" - cause this claim is established on NOTHING.

  • LOL

BACK TO THE TOPIC? and now ur talking about women.

how asian of you to keep diverging the discussion...

dude, I've already told you that just because you haven't heard professional asian vocalists doesn't mean there is no one who can pull this off other than Jacky Cheung - which part of that statement do you not understand?

  • lol not so much of a joke as you are.

  • Of course there are exceptions, but history and people don't record or remember those who could have or should have made it. It's almost enviable that you're sticking up for the unknown vocalist who may or may not be better than Jacky, but unless the general public has a reasonable chance to hear him/her, there's no chance to appraise as you have.

  • Back to topic: there are many beautiful women in the world, and yet we label some as the most beautiful - Jolie, Ito Misaki, etc. But if we don't actually see every women in the world, how can we say that one is actually the most beautiful. We really can't, but as an average person, we have to appraise and judge by what is presented to us. The assumption is again that the best will naturally come forth - the cream rises.

  • Nothing personal. Just wondering if you were a "joke" in the competitions like you said Jacky would be..."cause Jacky Cheung is nothing but a pop singer - he'd be a joke if he was to compete in a vocal competition". Just having a little fun with what you wrote so don't get your panties in a bunch.

  • god you're such a retard.

I can't give you any names because I don't live in Asia you turd.

I'm just telling you that THERE ARE GOOD ASIAN VOCALISTS and I've heard their performances in competitions - so why don't you do yourself a favor, check out those competitions before you go around talking about ethnicity.

lol? how did I do in competition? why're you getting personal? did I say anything about how good I am? or did I compare myself to Jacky? lol

  • Your enlightened self can't even give me a single name. Normal people don't go to music school to listen to music. That's what CD's are for. I'm sorry you have some inferiority complex with "superstar" singers since you happened to study music in school or participated in some voice compeitition. By the way how did you do in the competition? If I remember correctly, Jacky won a singing competiton and made a career out of it. Think about that the next time you're singing in the shower.

  • see this is what I'm talking about - you have no freaking idea what the hell. I've already told you that there are great asian vocalists - you want names? go check MISS SAIGON! there are LOTS of asian vocalists in miss saigon.

I've even told you to visit an decent asian music school - and you said "who the hell has the time".

  • "Who in the hell has the time to go to a 'prestigious asian university'"

WOW what did that prove? NOTHING? the fact that you haven't seen it for yourself doesn't constitute an evidence - and how does my competition has to do with this discussion? lol so now you're getting personal and trying to diverge the discussion to "You have a grudge against Jacky"? HELLO?

learn how to stay on topic, kid

  • opera VOICE, sir.

jacky Cheung is definitely not the only one, not even close - you might want to explore vocal music in the asian world a little bit more.

  • I agree that Jacky's a pop singer - a damn good one, which you would agree to. But you keep mentioning these other great professional Asian vocalists that I've never heard of. You said "There are LOTS of great asian opera singers." Domingo, Pavarotti, Carreras...I know as supposedly great opera vocalists and they're not Asian. I don't even know a single asian male opera vocalist so I plead to you to lighten my ignorance. Whatever you recommend, I'll give a try.

  • lol why am I responsible for your ignorance?

I've already given you a direction - go look things up for yourself. I have seen a couple asian vocalists but unfortunately I don't remember their names - yeah they're not superstars but they sing better than Jacky Cheung I can tell you that.

Dude, there are decent music schools in Asia - look in there - any vocal major sings better than Jacky.

  • don't set your standards base on what you've seen - cause apparently what you've seen is not enough.

If you've never visited a music school or heard asian vocalists sing - MAYBE TRY THAT? go to a prestigious asian university, visit its music school - you'll find lots of talented singers there. how do I know? 'cause I've sang in vocal competitions before, and vocal has more to do with techniques than ethnicity - in fact, it has NOTHING to do with ethnicity.

  • Who in the hell has the time to go to a "prestigious asian university" or "decent music schools in Asia" to find a good Asian vocalist? I don't even live in Asia. If they're so good we'd hear about them already. That's the whole point of music school, right? To produce musicians and singers. The cream rises to the top, and your little Asian opera singers from music school obviously aren't the cream.

  • ok, as much as I love Jacky Cheung and all his songs...he did a poor job singing this one - I can barely hear him during the duet!

if you want to hear how this song is suppose to be done, listen to the Sarah & Josh Groban version:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys840Pbm_rY&search=there%20for%20me

and seriously...that last comment about Asian male is just ridiculous. There are LOTS of great asian opera singers...it has nothing to do with the race.

  • Anyone who thinks this song is an opera song and that Josh Groban is an "opera" singer must also think Lloyd Weber is an opera composer. My comment about Jacky is just giving him his due. I don't know how many chinese opera singers there are out there, but among the Asian male singers I know and listen to, he's about the only one who can pull of that song - bad English or not.

  • lol just realized that you only played with the terminology there - ok, cool, change it to "VOCALIST" cause I agree that I've mispoken.

but I don't think you've made a real rebut, so...if it's true that Jacky Cheung is the only one who can pull this off - then...you might want to explore the professional vocalists in Asia a little bit more...cause Jacky Cheung is nothing but a pop singer - he'd be a joke if he was to compete in a vocal competition.

  • Man, I never thought an Asian male singer could pull this song off - but Jacky really kicked the a$$ out of this song.

  • pls see the last shot of sarah ?

    she's blinking to jacky

    is she flirting ?

    haha ~~ just kidding lol

  • This was soooooo great. Thanks for posting it.

  • This is beautifull loved it!

  • What a lovely duet.

  • Great video! Thank you for sharing.
