  • I find it strange that every captain or admiral of the USS Enterprise has always been a white man. I guess there is an unwritten rule in Star Trek which is every person who plays the captain role of the USS Enterprise must always be a white man.

  • @superman0O7 go cry about it then just because a black guy hasn't been in charge of the ship doesn't mean they are racist, not everything is racist like you think. I doubt the USS JFK has had a black captain woah I guess the Navy is racist then. I'm pretty sure Canada hasn't had a black prime minister whelp guess they're racist too huh. Stop being over sensitive and grow some goddamn nuts. Why hasn't the japanese navy ever had a white admiral well I guess they are racist huh? Shut up!

  • @TheNewDaySucks I never said the captain had to be black and no I won't shut up. I just find it strange that every captain of the USS Enterprise on Star Trek is traditionally white. It would be nice for a change it the captain was Asian or any other race other than white. If you feel threaten then I am not sure why this is Star Trek not the USS JFK or some Canadian prime minister.

  • @superman0O7 I never feel threatened I just hate whiners

  • @TheNewDaySucks I am not whining but I am stating a fact.

  • @superman0O7 There was a black Captain for 7 years on DS9, a woman on Voyager as well. Sulu became a captain in the sixth movie.

  • @WLDB None of them commanded the USS Enterprise.

  • @superman0O7 What difference does it make if they did or not? Weird thing to nit-pick about.

  • @WLDB Years ago it would have been weird to say a black man could run for president with a name like Barrack Obama. The captain of the USS Enterprise of the Star Trek series is an important role because it represents power.

  • @superman0O7 Captain Garrett was a female, and probably one of the most important captains of the enterprise. She exploded in a battle with Romulans while protecting a Klingon outpost in Narendra III, earning Klingon respect, and preventing a long and pointless war with the Klingon Empire. Well... that is... she was supposed to. Instead she got a piece of deck plating lodged into her brain when her ship got stuck in the future.

  • @ninjamatic5000 Okay but that doesn't change the fact that there has never been a minority playing the role of captain of the USS Enterprise whether or not the person male or female.

  • @superman0O7 Fine, fine. Still, you did say "white MAN"... which you were wrong about. But I get it. you're talking about the captain as a leading character starring on a show featuring the Enterprise. I really don't relate to your desire to see an individual of a certain race in command. It doesn't really seem like they're "traditionally" white on the enterprise. There have only been 3 casted to regularly appear on a tv series. Not enough for me to draw the same negative conclusion as you.

  • @ninjamatic5000 I wasn't entirely wrong because when I see t-shirts of every person in command of the USS Enterprise from Kirk, Picard, and Archer who happen to be all white men then the question comes to mind how come there are no minorities to be cast as captain of the USS Enterprise? By the way you did mention the fact that she was killed in action so let me guess a white man took her place.

  • The Dominion War RUINED Star Trek?! That was the franchise's crescendo, its apogee. The shit with the one-off MotW episodes SUCKED. That's why Enterprise started out shitty, they were catering to simpletons who hated DS9 because they lacked the attention span. But then by the third season it was brilliant (Xindi Arc). But of course they wouldn't let that continue, and they let the franchise die. The 2009 film was like digging up the corpse, prying off any valuables, and then shitting on it

  • @trilobright TNG and ToS teased what the capabilities and politics were in the future and required people to use their imaginations to imagine what they were. DS9 was less cerebral because they clearly defined all the capabilities, consequences, and politics. This made the Trek universe more defined and coherent (which trekkies ate up), but had the side effect that you didn't have to have an imagination anymore. .

  • So...Nero came to the past...right? And he was there since Kirk was a baby... so... What was he doing all that time? Just flying around the galaxy? Was he hanging out on Romulus? Passing the keys to his ship around at a swinger party? Did he take the crew to Risa for 25 years? Did he get lost somewhere in the Delta Quadrant and have to eat the other 50 people on his crew?...THIS DOESN'T MAKE ANY S--

  • The movie wasn't bad but honestly for me it spelled the end of Star Trek. TNG was a great show about how an enlightened human speices delt with problems. DS9 was ok. I really liked Cisco but it was almost like humanity took a step back insofar as enlightenment. Voyager was less 'ok' Janeway was just a self righteous bitch with completely unrealistic outcomes. Then came the movies... Just dumb action movies saturated with special effects . Kind of like a sandwich with way too much mayonase.

  • I honestly don't know how I'd get through this breakup without plinket...

  • I have to say when I saw the captain of the USS Kelvin my first thought was OMG Hollywood has found a way to even outsource Captain Jean Luc Picard.

  • Live long and prosper aka the Spock hand thing. Can you do it? LOL I can!

  • actually There are tribbles in the background of the scene where they first meet scotty

  • Dude they had tribbles in this movie.

  • But can you use a black ho to travel through space and time?

  • whats the name of the rap song at the end of your videos? it sounds cool, i want it :P

  • Thanks a ton, loved this review and felt it accurately nailed all the things JJ Abrams could teach Lucas about how to make a movie for the new generation.

  • @TheKittenJedi Making a mindless action film, not attempting complexity or multiple layers of political intrigure or mystery, sure.

  • @reviewreviewer1 not gonna lie, from a star wars nerd standpoint i liked the prequels, from a human being standpoint they were garbage. In all honesty this movie was closer to the orignal star wars than episodes 1 and 2 ever were.

  • 6:44 "Shinzon's ship" ?

  • @cchoi94 I noticed that too. Both films have the same sort of ending though.

  • @MediaLetterRed

well, what the others said, Cop Dog and Baby's Day Out (I have a nettop with little memory, it won't display the redlettermedia site)
