This game is wayyyy ahead of its time. The original pretty much started survival horror & this remake has graphics that shit on a lot of games today. Best RE imo followed by RE3 & RE4.

They would have soo much disk space that they could put soo much content like tons of costumes, online, trophies/achievements, and soo much more. gamecube and wii are very capable consoles,not HD but still capable of very very high quality sd but no ones really developing any good games for the wii,its always about the wiimotes and how they can make it so they have to be used,so we end up with a time crisis like game with a great story and great looking cut scenes but then horrible gameplay,most people dont like the arcade style gameplay where theres no freedom and they dont even release anything for the cube anymore.its sad really....
alright Capcom now wheres the dino crisis 1 remake,that was an awesome game also!! i couldn't get enough of it when it came out,why did you remake it for the GC also...
You can't walk backwards and shoot at all what's he talking about you've never been able to walk in any direction and shoot in a resi game even 5 which we thought they would have put in.
This game is the best survival horror game there is. I didn't played that much RE when it first came out on Playstation. Not until RE2 was released I started to like the game series and have played these games ever since. When this came out and I first played it I thought.. HOLY SHIT! I enjoyed every second of the game and the replay value is VERY HIGH. I can play this game anyday and anytime ;)
RE4 has been my favorite RE game (not to mention one of my top 5 games ever) ever since I first played it, but after having this game for several years, and picking it back up again today, I think I'm beginning to like it more than RE4. I definitely appreciate the emphasis on survival in this game as compared to RE4's constant action (not that that's a bad thing). Anyways, this is truly one of my favorite GC games, and it's one of the few games I would never trade in or sell.
Even to this day, REmake is the best Resident Evil made in our generation, no doubt AT ALL.

You know, A gamecube could create such a creepy game and look so good like this. Imagine what the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii could do. 3D graphics are nice but there's no point in having like a 3D fence that can't be destroyed like Gears of War. I always preferred the Pre-rendered style because it gives the creator more flexibity with CD storeage. A PS3 could make a game look great like this and beat like the graphics of DMC4 or higher. Giving them more cool stuff to put in like online or whatever.
Still one of the most gorgeous looking games I've ever played, some games on 360 don't even look this good. Best Resident Evil of all time in my opinion, perfect blend of scares, edge of your seat moments, and puzzle solving. Such a great game.
I remember when i found out u could get your dagger back if u stab him and get a critical headshot ! the dagger lunges out of his exploding head and falls to the ground afterwards just pick it up and use it again! talk about a Life Saver!

I can still remember when I saw the first screenshots of this game on ign, I couldn't believe what i was looking at. In terms of visuals it was a huge leap from the previous games. If you ask me this was the best reason to own a GameCube.

This game is way to hard with the puzzles. The Coloered candle puzzle. You have to count how many times it clicks. How the HELL would I have known that!?
saddler is dull uninteresting the better the villian the better the story and salazar annoying as he was was better than saddler. having said that 4 had some small good moments like the del lago boss and krausers debut but it is not the best. its the worst. the old camera angle in the originals was nessecary for the fear and atmosphere re4 and 5 run shoot run shoot no fear or suspense or atmosphere and certainlly no fear. the originals r timeless classics and r brilliant all around. not hard 2 c

The original RE games may have had a more scary atmosphere, but the movement and camera were terrible. The over the shoulder camera and free roam controls were a great aspect of both games. In the end, both generations had their ups and downs but none of the games ruind the series.
@WilliamBroichYAY thats one of the beautiful things of the 1st RE game if you die you can only continue from the last point you saved and considering there are a limited amount of saves in the game its a nice touch to add to the game's tension.

@TheResidentevil101 Resident Evil 4 was a SIDE STORY and it still got game of the year many times. That game had a huge scary adrenaline rush and the virus got more dangerous. I had to make every bullet count. The boss battles were intense and having to supervise Ashely in complete darkness was one of the most suspenseful experiences in gaming for me. The game was very long with multiple environments so I was very satisfied. Resident Evil 4 was a fantastic game and still is.
@ShevaMaster772 The boss battles were the easiest possible, i remember beating Saddler in less than 2 minuetes, whiel when i fought Tyrant, or Mr.X it took more ammo. Make every bullet count? Guess what you opened a drawer, handgun ammo! you bust open a barrel, tmp ammo, open a trunk in a farm house, magnum ammo. Ammo was not aproblem in this game at all. And at least even if you had infinate ammo in the remake, it was still challenging.

A horror game is not defined by whether or not it has zombies or not but by the story and the atmosphere of the game. I both two I7 procesors + RE5 but i also tryed RE Remake on Emulator on max settings and ITS Awesome. I played RE5 like 1 hour and din't get scared. i played that game and got chills from the atmosfere.

exactly! just like in the PS1 Final Fantasy games (though they aint scary ;) ). Im not sure if project zero (fatal frame in america) uses the same method, but the graphics for PS2 r quite all right, and I find them fucking scary. I wanna play RE, though I never liked it, but I think it will be good. But I think I wont find it as scary as the project zero parts. They r not based on gore, but on shock. Ur enemies r only ghosts, and the atmosphere is so awesome! check it out!

Even to this day, REmake is the best Resident Evil made in our generation, no doubt AT ALL.
Heck, just maybe the best survival horror game right next to Dead: Space. Sadly, Capcom has been sliding off their Resident Evil throne lately and they need to bring this element back into the fray to bring true glory to its name

You know, A gamecube could create such a creepy game and look so good like this. Imagine what the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii could do. 3D graphics are nice but there's no point in having like a 3D fence that can't be destroyed like Gears of War. I always preferred the Pre-rendered style because it gives the creator more flexibity with CD storeage. A PS3 could make a game look great like this and beat like the graphics of DMC4 or higher. Giving them more cool stuff to put in like online or whatever.

Still one of the most gorgeous looking games I've ever played, some games on 360 don't even look this good. Best Resident Evil of all time in my opinion, perfect blend of scares, edge of your seat moments, and puzzle solving. Such a great game.

I remember when i found out u could get your dagger back if u stab him and get a critical headshot ! the dagger lunges out of his exploding head and falls to the ground afterwards just pick it up and use it again! talk about a Life Saver!

I can still remember when I saw the first screenshots of this game on ign, I couldn't believe what i was looking at. In terms of visuals it was a huge leap from the previous games. If you ask me this was the best reason to own a GameCube.

saddler is dull uninteresting the better the villian the better the story and salazar annoying as he was was better than saddler. having said that 4 had some small good moments like the del lago boss and krausers debut but it is not the best. its the worst. the old camera angle in the originals was nessecary for the fear and atmosphere re4 and 5 run shoot run shoot no fear or suspense or atmosphere and certainlly no fear. the originals r timeless classics and r brilliant all around. not hard 2 c

I hope they make games like this with pre rendered backgrounds. It doesn't take much muscle to render such yet it will look more beautiful w/ so much less resources but w/o really interactivity. It will be beautiful for PSP.

The original RE games may have had a more scary atmosphere, but the movement and camera were terrible. The over the shoulder camera and free roam controls were a great aspect of both games. In the end, both generations had their ups and downs but none of the games ruind the series.

re4 definately ruined the series no atmosphere, no fear. and yes you do need zombies almost every horror story in history in the film industry has zombies its what the horror genre is famous for slow brain dead but deadly scary zombies. if its not an insane guy with a knife killing people its zombies thats just the way horror is. but re4 ruined that with the plagas bullshit. and re5 took what re4 did and ruined the chris jill wesker and spencer storyline.

@TheResidentevil101 Resident Evil 4 was a SIDE STORY and it still got game of the year many times. That game had a huge scary adrenaline rush and the virus got more dangerous. I had to make every bullet count. The boss battles were intense and having to supervise Ashely in complete darkness was one of the most suspenseful experiences in gaming for me. The game was very long with multiple environments so I was very satisfied. Resident Evil 4 was a fantastic game and still is.

@ShevaMaster772 The boss battles were the easiest possible, i remember beating Saddler in less than 2 minuetes, whiel when i fought Tyrant, or Mr.X it took more ammo. Make every bullet count? Guess what you opened a drawer, handgun ammo! you bust open a barrel, tmp ammo, open a trunk in a farm house, magnum ammo. Ammo was not aproblem in this game at all. And at least even if you had infinate ammo in the remake, it was still challenging.

@TheResidentevil101 Now that's completely false. There's plenty of horror games that were great games and that probably even recieved game of the year that did not have zombies in them. A horror game is not defined by whether or not it has zombies or not but by the story and the atmosphere of the game. If a game has a very good story and a scary atmosphere, it's a game that's worth playing.

I both two I7 procesors + RE5 but i also tryed RE Remake on Emulator on max settings and ITS Awesome. I played RE5 like 1 hour and din't get scared. i played that game and got chills from the atmosfere.

the "tank" controls are a positive in classic RE games..because the backrounds are prerendered, and the camera in each prerendered area is fixed.
so the graphics are going to be high quality, and the atmosphere will be scary, which makes it to be a real survivel horror game.

exactly! just like in the PS1 Final Fantasy games (though they aint scary ;) ). Im not sure if project zero (fatal frame in america) uses the same method, but the graphics for PS2 r quite all right, and I find them fucking scary. I wanna play RE, though I never liked it, but I think it will be good. But I think I wont find it as scary as the project zero parts. They r not based on gore, but on shock. Ur enemies r only ghosts, and the atmosphere is so awesome! check it out!
