One of the best versions of this song. I have versions on 45's by Dion, Chordettes,Sonny James, Echoes(Donna label group).and Don Robertson(the writer), This is the most different of them all, Great and very under rated.

This is a favorite of mine--very sensuous. Dion said working with Spector was the most difficult thing ever for him. He wanted to walk out many times. Sure am glad he didn't!

Born To Be With You shares affinities with another Phil Spector production: Death Of A Ladies' Man by Leonard Cohen. Both albums feature Phil Spector on production. Both albums are misunderstood albums in the history of rock. Both albums have a resigned, murky atmosphere.

@lyonslaforet both albums are in spector's string of brilliant underappreciated 70s 'comebacks.' both great albums, but the dion album is, aside from one nearly unlistenable song, one of the best albums ever made. death of a ladies man has brilliant moments but cant top the majestic stream of most of 'born to be with you.' dion doesn't have the poetic pretensions of cohen and can sing his fuckin ass off. to me only astral weeks captures devotion better than this album, in the pop music realm.

@shocktk thats funny, the same thing! I had a Dion album called wonder where i"m bound. Check out the title song its good. I was reading something about Pierce & he said about this album.
