I tested the HBH-IS800 with my macbook, mac mini and LG mobile phone. I was able to connect with all but connecting and disconnecting was a problem since the headphones were recognized but never reconnected until I restarted the equipment and re-pair again. I am sending the headphones back but not because connectivity issues but because the VERY low sound quality. I can't believe that Sony would make headphones with such poor quality. I could have gotten a bad pair but I doubt it.
I'm waiting for the day they make bluetooth earbuds without them being connected. Just two little buds. The bulky handsfree mono headsets don't count.
WHY doesn't any manufacture create a bluetooth like HBH-IS800 with this criteria below?!
1. Simple and sleek
2. Great build quality
2. Pare friendly with iphone!! (100 million+devices on the global marktet damnit!)
3. Microphone for calls, and good sound quality for our music
I can't see the problem really. Although I do se the market value. We have tons of crappy choices and no one is worth buying. It shouldn't be that hard! Come on, give it to us!!
To say they're bad is absurd, but they're far from amazing.
I use mine with an iPhone 3GS, great for when I have to go in crowded places like the subway, then again life is not honey nor pink, the battery life is around 90 mins and that only as headphones (i'll explain that in a minute).
Since I have an iPhone is not possible to use 'em straight, Apple didn't add a BT stack that could make full use of BT including volume control, so I have to use 'em with a BT adapter to the headphones jack, that is an extra bulky element in the back of my phone, add to that the need to keep them with the less amount of objects in between (my arm sometimes cuts the signal) and that maybe the adapter but when I use them with other phones (SE or BB) they still lose signal but not that often.
Now the earbuds...after 30 mins I have to take 'em out and dry 'em, normal condensation inside the ear channel makes 'em slippery and they fall out (my ears are very clean and tidy !!!), pls stop making damn awful earbuds, my normal Fontopia MDRE818LP are the perfect fit, doesn't make me sweat and the sound is KABOOM, the IS800 are not as loud as corded sets, but nothing beats no cords rt now and size is also a huge plus, price is high, but when I got them I paid twice of what u will pay now.
@fannyslapper33 dont be silly bro, its a SE headset...made for SE devices...not IPOD...just imagine IPOD would make a BT headset...and i say it does not work with my SE device...Helloooo....get it???
Look awesome, I just brought the Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-505, absolutly amazing 10 hour music time (full volume) goes as loud as an ipod and bass is pretty damn good... My only concern of this product is... Whats the battery time like?
Wtf hahahaha. 189 dollars for this? You can get them for a third of that price from other dealers. The dealers here in sweden sell them for like 60 dollars. DON'T BUY FROM HERE.
would someone please answer this? do these work with ipod touch? i know ipod touch has bluetooth so im guessing it would but the review talks only of phones.
I have the HBH DS980 and this IS800. The stereo on this is not as strong and bass is not as good compared to the DS980. I also find that there is a lot of background noise when your talking on the IS800 this being told from the other end. Otherwise for minimal wires its great.
the sound is great but the pairing of the phone to your mobile devices has to be done manually because it does not automatically pair to the phone everytime you use it
Bought it recently. The headset refused to power up on the 3rd day. Its already more than 2 weeks in Sony E/// repair centre and I am still waiting...
