Seems to me like randy was a bit underratted, as a singer and a writter. Mike was clearly the king but its a shame the rest of the brothas didnt get the shine they deserved. Good song tho, shout out to the jacksons.
WHY WHY WHY!? did such music have to go..the 70s and 80s were amazing..until rap hit big around the corner in the late 80s going into the 90s..where al that macho crap was reintroduced again..
I miss the early 80s so much...it's so sad to be a part of today's teenage generation..
@body5436 Randy did the demos for songs from off the wall: the percussions for don't stop and working day and night... his gave those songs that bounce and made it special...i wished mj would of worked more with randy... he was a dope producer as you can hear on this...
i like this song.. randy really can sing... he has his own flavor.. i also like the song i love you hunny. he's good with playing the santizizer.. sorry if i spelled it wrong..
JackASS was a CHILD MOLESTER and was addicted to drugs. Dr Murray was only doing his job. You NIGGERS and NIGGER LOVERS are blind to the truth !! WAKE UP and realize what a piece of SHIT JackASS really was you idiot moron MJ worshippers !1 You make me SICK!!
I am amazed that people don't seem to realize that there was actually things going on before American Idol and that this is Randy Jackson, brother of Micheal, Jermaine, etc and that the Randy on American Idol is a different man with the same name. This Randy J is the person singing this song and he is from American Idol.
Great song, I have the victory Album by the Jacksons from, I think around 1983 or 1984 , and this is my favorite on the album.
When I first listened to the complete album in 1986, I had to get used to the new electronic sound it had...Unlike the glorious albums before, they have a more organic feeling. IT was a new decade and synths were the new thing. The guys from Toto probably had a lot to do with that also. It was the first album I bought BTW.
Some of the songs get you right away, like the "rocky" and sunny "Wait" sung by Jacky. He shows that he can carry a tune also. The adlibs by michael at the end of it are wonderful and strong. They make the song even better!
Michaels ballad is one that grew on me too. But it's no human nature! Now, state of shock just gets you right away! Body is an ok song but too long at the end!
As I said in the title, it is a good album if you accept the new style of music on it. 8 out of 10 stars! End of review..
Torture, almost pure rock is great and nasty sounding! I think back then it was the first single. I like The Hurt because Randy, i think. is whailing full throttle about his heartbreak. A better singer and a more rich arrangement would make it a better song. He sings much better on the heavy electronics ballad "One More Chance. A song that grew on me over the years.
So did Tito's We can change the world. The arrangement is much better and richer than The Hurt's.
Bought this song at a record store in Kansas City downtown ,well the album, and I bought it for any song I had heard but that One. Fell in love with it. Its my favorite song on the album. Been playing it periodically all those years.
Randy Jackson would look so much like Micheal Jackson during the victory era. it was like they were twins. its between Marlon and randy that looks the most like Micheal. the face structure is the same
HOLY WOW! I haven't heard this song since I was 10 years old! I'm now 27 and as of this writing, this is the first time since 1993 (When I was 10) that I actually heard this. The last time I heard it was when I going home from St. Mary's of Providence after school on a Taxi in Chicago
. I never heard this song again until finding it again with Janet Jackson doing her own version. Then I found this at last! Thank you for posting this classic. :D
I HAVE THE VINYL ALBUM. THIS IS baby brother Randy singing lead. Jermaine was back in the group at this time. I played this song so much back then on my stereo. I LOVE THE JACKSONS SO MUCH. GOD BLESS THE FAMILY. RIP MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON. SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE!
@frenchieandproud I dont no who call u a name but I understand where u are. Young people on here could easily think a person is talking about the american Idol randy Jackson
One of my all time fav jams..Randy did this for real...This was during the Victory period and Jermaine was back with the group in 84.On this particular album each brother sang lead and produced their own song as well as collective efforts on the album..Years later that sweet Janet remade it...Jacksons 4 life
This was Randy ya'll fake jackson fans, get your brothers right. By far this was my favorite Randy song, he did the damn thing. The real Randy Jackson not that un talented one on american idol which stole his job lol
they chose marlon coz his voice was nearest to Michaels... randys is too low. if u listen to marlins vocals on 'body' ull see that he sounds and says his words like Michael. and they wanted MJs sound if Mj wudnt sing anymore with them lol
from jackson fan to jackson fan, i have to say that marlon's voice is not near michael's. marlon sings deep!!!! listen to a good number of jackson songz and you will hear that he is low. for example, listen to "i am love" by the jacksons. when you hear that yell, that is marlon
That's Jermaine..but Marlon and Jermaine sound alike..Though Marlon voice is a tad bit more screechier and sounds like Michael when it wants to..Its sorta weird!
Hm...wait a minute. If you go by Triumph Jackie was the one who sang most lead after Michael since he took care of most of "Wondering who". Randy shared lead with MJ on Can you feel it and Marlon sang co-lead on Give it up, meaning Marlon and Randy equally much.
I don't think so..Randy couldn't do as much because he JUST recovered from a bad car accident..Marlon can sing, he sounds like a smaller more screechier voice of Jermaine, its sexy!
I love all the brothers..But, Randy is just put out there because of his..OMG his everythingg!!!
No it was when like Off the wall came out..in 1981 he rejoined with his brothers and made a great comeback..It was all in the ebony or jet magazine back in the days..
@lilbush98 I know exactly how u feel hun haha..I wish I was 15 in 1980 instead of 2009 lol!...Mike,Randy & Marlon were the sexiest out of the Jackson brothers!...Michael being the sexiest of course! ;) xxxxxxxxx
Yeah I believe the car accident if I recall was in 1980 and he was really bad off but amazingly the following year was back to his full strength to tour for Triumph!
He was in a bad car accident in 1979..he was about 18 years of age..I believe he had a high-speed car and the accident tore him up..He was paralyzed, I don't know where though..Umm its just a miracle that he's with us and his family today..He had to stay active..That's why he was so muscular. He had to stay active or else his legs were gonna go out on him..and then he would seriously be paralyzed..I'm glad he's with us..He's so sexy!
@peskied Hahaha, I own that one too, on 12 inch! They sort of got the same flow now that you mention it! I play both songs regularly, I never got rid of my record player, its cool to hear these songs as I did back in the day!
yes this was a great song randy had a solo album with a group he lead called randy and the gypsies the album was fantastic i wish the lable pushed it more he had a song called , love we almost had that was timeless i still listen to it till this day!

that's what i meant janet covered the jackson's vicory '"one more chance". i meant jacksons 5 , jacksons and michael. i can't beleive there wasn't singles like "wait/; and "we can change hte world"..it shoujld've been the biggest album of 1984 , better than true blue or purple rain and they were gr8.

It's funny...
Randy and the Jackson brothers made this song for their 1984 album, Victory...
Janet Jackson did a cover of the same song as the B-side to her 1993 hit single, "If"...
And Michael Jackson's last ever single (while living) was called "One More Chance", released on his 2003 album, Number Ones...
I think the Jacksons were very in-sync with each other.

@warriorkoala there's one more "Chance" song on the ABC LP. the start of the so called 'chance' legacy. Good timeline though, W.

@peskied Hahaha, I own that one too, on 12 inch! They sort of got the same flow now that you mention it! I play both songs regularly, I never got rid of my record player, its cool to hear these songs as I did back in the day!

Yes, this is Randy doing the lead vocals on this great song.
Also, Jermaine plays a mean guitar. Right now, I am listening to Jermaine sing his song, Dynamite. A lot of talent resides in this family!

that's what i meant janet covered the jackson's vicory '"one more chance". i meant jacksons 5 , jacksons and michael. i can't beleive there wasn't singles like "wait/; and "we can change hte world"..it shoujld've been the biggest album of 1984 , better than true blue or purple rain and they were gr8.
