From what I've seen there's two types of metalheads: Those who favor a combo of traditional, thrash, hair, death, black, power, gothic, and doom, then those more into nu metal, metalcore, deathcore and popular bands (etc Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse). The former considers the ladder faux metal because the music is more simplistic, people are unfriendly at shows, and it takes itself way too seriously. The ladder usually considers the former "not brutal enough" and "for pussies."

This shouldn't be metal or not metal, it just should be called "this is 80's and this is new". I grew up in the 80's and love all those bands as a matter of fact every single one you have on here from the 80's. But, I like a few of the newer bands shown. They are still metal. Espically Avenged and Trivium. The difference is good production as compared to thin old tape quality. Remember there are only so many notes, tunings and tempos and these bands all use them. Don't hate. Open your minds.

This shouldn't be metal or not metal, it just should be called "this is 80's and this is new". I grew up in the 80's and love all those bands as a matter of fact every single one you have on here from the 80's. But, I like a few of the newer bands shown. They are still metal. Espically Avenged and Trivium. The difference is good production as compared to thin old tape quality. Remember there are only so many notes, tunings and tempos and these bands all use them. Don't hate. Open your minds.

im not a metalposer, but im kinda new into metal u know, i listen to death and obituary and stuff, so i rly know whats good and bad metal. Now, im going to metal festival next week, wearing a slayer shirt, but because i dont have long hair i usually do my hair in a mohawk, i know its not the best combination, punk and slayer lol but it just takes a very long time to grow, besides all of my friends say i dont look good with long hair.u guys think thats ok ? coz they might think im a poser ?

@childrenofblackwidow I've checked those bands like Bullet for my valentine out when I was still in middle school and everyone considered that "metal", I never liked it. I'm into old school metal, especially thrash and some death metal... Death is one of my most favourite bands for example, stuff like BFMV is just nothing compared to bands like that :) and that's a fact.

i wish people would be more open minded you gotta remember that heavy metal has alot of different influences and there are a lot of different types of heavy metal the first heavy metal was a band called iron butterfly it may not be anything like any of this stuff but something i hate is when people get music like silverstein or thrice confused with screamo silverstein and thrice are post-hardcore punk...
