  • Just stopped by to check out your site again & I think of your video everytime I flush..

Perhaps if we launched a class action suit or criminal charges..or just keep exposing the corruption forced change will come about.

    Peace & solidarity

  • Oh dont worry I never give Up I rather get down in the trenches , then rise UP ..

    Love Light

  • Hey there, CherishTheChildren.

Great attitude about that never giving up stuff. I agree I'd rather get down in the trenches too. Over here's there's a lot of Down and very little up. Only thing I've seen "rise UP" of late, I immediately want to FLUSH DOWN.

I like your "Love Light". Sunlight, they say, disinfects. Maybe one day....

  • Haha ,,Im with you ,,can we share the toilet I got a lot a flushing to do too ,geeez we already share the trenches so why not ..

As for the Light I keep shining it ,,the more light the more that which is hidden is seen revealed ..

    Love Light Kathy

  • There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Prof noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back.

  • Excellant ,

We can do it together People call your MPP and MP demand Ombudsman Oversight Bill 88 Presented by Andrea Horwath MPP Hamilton

Time for change and time to show the Puppeticians WE THE PEOPLE do have a voice

  • Hi again,

Actually, you (we) may be The People but believe me, we don't have a voice. You may be fighting for improvements in Children's Aid Societies but the reality is that many of these organizations are cloaked in, what the Ontario Ombudsman refers to as a "zone of immunity". Municipalities in Ontario have lobbied for legislation to give them power-power-power along with illusions of "transparency" and "accountability". Here's the problem. Most municipalities are CORPORATIONS. (next)

  • Hi again CherishTheChildren. What you need to know if you don't right now is that many municipalities are public corporations. Council is to DO WHAT'S BEST FOR THE CORPORATION. Operate in the INTERESTS of the CORPORATION. And that isn't near the same thing as acting on behalf of citizens and yes, children.

It's because mayor and councillors work on behalf of The CORPORATION that citizens are in desperate need of Provincial oversight into municipalities. Desperate desperate need.

  • Final point.

The bad news, CherishTheChildren, is that so many Ontario MPP's were former mayors and councillors before they became MPP's....

so they know what the Ontario Ombudsman would find if they ever opened Municipalities (MUSH sector) up to Ombudsman-Oversight.

Take home message? You still can't give up!

  • Yep got it loud and clear, But these Puppeticians better get it and get it soon . WE THE PEOPLE have the power awreness and Unity among ourselves , what do you think the Berlin Wall came down , the people can give or it can take. Many Kingdoms have been overthrown thruout history. Municipalities are no different.

  • No doubt , most municipalities are corporations , that's where they got their mixed up ideas that anybody would go for having some special group immediately formed , instead of enforcing what is already on the books. Get lost losers.

  • I think I agree with you (not quite sure what you're saying). But Freedom of Information confirms that municipalities enforce only what's of benefit to them. They expect citizens to comply their by-laws and rules to the letter. But Freedom of Information also confirm that municipalities have no such requirements for their own employees. Even the sloth-iest municipal employees is protected from accountability. They can screw you but there's no complaints system for you to fight back with.

  • And the inability to have done so in the past.

    Not a good record.

  • fthrcast, don't know how to respond because I've no clue what " inability to have done so in the past" refers to.

  • good vid and check out peterpatch oops peterborough

  • Thank you for taking the time to write that piece on the Ontario Ombudsman.....it is a wake-up call and hopefully people will learn what is really happening and who has the power to control

  • That was a really entertaining but realistic issue facing many citizens in Ontario. Oversight of Children's Aid Soceites is a necessity. Great video.

  • Quoting Andre Marin:

"Ontario remains the only province in Canada where citizens cannot turn to their Ombudsman if, for example, they have a problem with a hospital. The situation is similar for long-term care facilities, children's aid societies, school boards or police. My office hears complaints from thousands of people every year about these crucial publicly-funded services, but we are powerless to help them."

  • Interesting. What can we do about this?

  • You can insist that your Provincial candidates state their position on giving the Ontario Ombudsman access into the MUSH (Municipalities, Universities, Schools, Hospitals etc) sector.

And above all let them know that Bogus Bill 130 passed in December by the Liberals is despicable in its contempt for citizens. Allowing municipalities to pick their own ombudsman-investigator.

Above all, you should be as totally ticked off as I am at the deceit.

  • "Millions of Ontarians are at the mercy of a special kind of Big Brother

-- the hospitals, the long-term care facilities, the children's aid societies and the like are

cleverly guised as "private entities" and deemed off-limits to proper checks and balances.

Big Brother has his hand firmly planted in our back pocket -- government revenues his lifeline; unaccountability his refuge."

    OPENING REMARKS

    Annual Report 2006-2007

    André Marin

  • Unfortunately he doesn't treat his staff fairly, and the office is closed due to a labour strike as of Feb.18 (Family Day)Good going Andre!

  • Hi there, from, "Ombudsman and union reach agreement"

"The new agreement includes an immediate pay raise of 3.5% retroactive to April 1, 2007, another 3.5% effective April 1, 2008, plus 3.5% in each of the next two years. It also enhances health and drug benefits...Effective immediately, the Ombudsman staff work week will increase from 35 hours to 36.25 hours, the same as the Ontario Public Service standard.

    (please see next message)

  • from the same source:

"The agreement also phases out five days off that were previously given in lieu of overtime, replacing them with overtime compensation at time-and-a-half for extra hours worked, to be given in cash and/or time by mutual consent."

"Our investigators, intake officers, administrative and other staff work hard to help the people of Ontario," said Ombudsman Andre Marin. "I'm pleased to have an agreement that ensures they are fairly and properly recognized for that work."

  • Are you kidding me? Andre Marin .

You freakin' woopie users need to get a job doing some work , cuzz you lied your way out , now you want to lie your way in ,

Fuck off already , you are $0

  • fthrcast, I didn't post your comments because of your use of the word "fuck", but I felt it best to unblock you and allow you to have your say.

    You wrote:

"Are you kidding me? ...you are $0"

So typical of some of the loathesome crap served up by people like you. Your entire comment is pure OPINION. Zero facts to back them up.

Ever heard the saying, "Opinions are like assholes -everyone's got one"?

And I'm here to tell you fthrcast, you got one HUGE "opinion"!

    Thanks 4 sharing

  • It's just like you "redundant types" to make an announcement about 25 minutes. It shows the reason why you are baiting people so much , you don't know much else as a result. Pays the rent eh? You are the same people who couldn't agree on whether there was 1 Ombudsman or whether there were several or many. That's Ontario , Canada. Lost for words , so they use people.

  • fthrcast, again, not sure what you're saying but can agree with your last two sentences. That's Ontario all right. They not only use people, the Ontario government LOOKS THE OTHER FRIKKIN' WAY as municipalities mis-serve and under-serve people while allowing them to boast of their achievements in public service. Frikkin' evil.

I've reached a point where I believe not even an army of Ombudsmen can help.

ONTARIO MUNICIPALITIES ARE MORALLY BEYOND REDEMPTION. (And so is Ontario)
