Elbow is one of the rare bands that does absolutely everything perfectly. I have been to countless live performances and thought that the bands could have approached songs differently, or done without certain instruments, but that is never true for Elbow.

This is the most beautiful song ever written.

Thanks for that bytes, for me that makes the lyrics so much more deep, I can really feel the emotion in them. Think the start of the second verse is Salford skyline blue though. Makes me cry everytime.

Just listened to this whole session all the way through.......again. Gets better every time.

I remember seeing Elbow years ago in Manchester when Cast of Thousands came out and wondered if they'd ever top some of that early stuff. Apparently they just keep on getting better and better. Tear-to-the-eye stuff, every time.

"wrriten and performed for the Seldom Seen Kid himself, Bryan Glancy, a Manchester singer songwriter and best friend to Guy Garvey, Elbow's lead singer.

Bryan passed away in 2007 after a sudden illness. This is Garvey's tribute to him.
