I was the UDem who asked a question right before this video. The whole event was pretty funny and ridiculous. David Horowitz made a few good points, but overall he was mostly just inflammatory and baiting the protesters who themselves weren't any better.
Baiting the protesters? He did nothing to inflame the protesters until the very end. He spent most of the time asking that they allow him to speak and was even kind enough to tell the crowd to allow Dana Cloud to speak without interruption. It is certainly ridiculous to say he was "baiting" the protesters or in any way wants this sort of attention.
He was doing it all throughout his speech, launching numerous ad hominem and such against them. Not that they didn't do the same and some of them didn't have some truth to them, but it was baiting.
Some of the rest of it was decent, but most of his actual content was pretty elementary and not really very insightful. For example his argument that Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama prove that racism is no longer an issue.
I think you're oversimplifying his point about Oprah & Obama. What Oprah and Obama show is that the glass ceiling does not exist the way many political activists would have you think. Racism will probably always be a problem, but it does not permeate our culture at every corner the way some like to present it.
He also described Oprah as the most powerful woman in the private sector. (Arguable, but not a pretty sound assumption.) He said she has this influence over a largely white, female fanbase, most of whom have never taken a "racial sensitivity" course. Even if racism is still a problem, the "racial sensitivity" solution liberals love to present are just silly.
I was at the event last night. The best part about "Professor" Cloud's (the name says it all) diatribe was when the lady in the crowd said "is there a question?". Cloud had never been talked back to like that in her life, certainly not as a professor, the look on her face is priceless. Horowitz did a great job last night.
