It is possible, it is a theory that native Americans that where being killed and rounded up just a little over a hundred years ago may have taken to the woods and fearing the white man they may have turned more and more wild surviving to this day as a wild human. Maybe my choice of the term wild Indian is not poleticaly correct today but wild human could be exactly what we have here.
OK, We don't have bears here, so what would you think of this idea? I could place a second bait jar just above the first one, bait it like I did the first, but leave the bottom of the jar in place. Then the creature would have to be smart enough to turn the jar open or strong enough to tear it off the tree. Either way I should get the finger prints.
i have also heard that bigfoot likes garlic, maybe you should put some in one of your traps. keep me posted if find anything

Nice ideal, i'm in KY as well and have heard of a sighting in Harlan about 5+ years ago with hair samples - so i'm interested in what you find.

You know this is a pretty neat idea. Really interested to see how it turns out. I can imagine alot of coons will prbly be falling out of trees.
The idea of a second sealed container would show that whatever did it would have problem solving capabilities as well as thumbs

Quick easy snack with those easy to reach baits wich are more likely to attract racoons and bears before a bigfoot.
